Why do you dolts dare question me?

Lol, you got one bracket and the Journal Star, wtf is that? When you are right you are right you pulled a couple out of your ass, but everything else I see out there disagrees and you know they will be in EASILY.

They went 26-8 and lost in Arch Madness last year. Were in the first four.

They could fall apart, anything is possible when conference tourneys start, if all the predictions hold up will be a bunch of crap teams who pulled off a few miracle wins with double digit losses get in.

WSU for BB only allows for 2 divisions of 6 teams each.

Just look at who posted it. You should know by now he is full crap and does not know as much as he thinks he does. But he has to keep his daddy HoopDreams happy. Plus one of his favorite coaches just lost his 13th game to Kansas State who lost to Oklahoma by 30. He will now post that they are in a better league but didn't we beat Ok. Yes we did.

Dumb dumb.

Last four in: Rhode Island, Marquette, Wake Forest, Illinois
First four out: Kansas State, Syracuse, Georgia, Wichita State

All the bracketologies are all guesses. Lunardi has Wichita State Seed No. 7 in West Region

I never said anything to the contrary. See bolded. It's not rocket science interpreting my post for most.

I guess for some, reading is hard.

Some folks mean more than one. Who else has them on the bubble? Just curious?

You are either just looking for a fight or you have phenomenally bad reading comprehension skills.

Hardly anyone does or care about divisions for basketball with conference tournaments. and why should they?

Allows for a balanced schedule. 16 Conference games instead of 18 and more room for OOC RPI building games. You division twice and each of the other once.
In all fairness, WSU has all of TWO top 100 wins. Vs. Illinois State when ISU had one of their best players out and vs. Colorado State.

In fact WSU only has five total top 150 rip wins:
#32 Ill State
#70 Colorado State
#112 Tulsa (pfft)
#141 Southern Illinois (twice)

That's it.

They are 5-4 vs. the RPI top 150.

And just for perspective, last year they were 10-8 vs. the RPI Top 150 and were one of the "first four."

They are 23-0 vs. RPI 150+

And, by the way, Memphis is 13-0 vs. RPI 150+

Even if they lose, I would like to see them get in, but I wouldn't be shocked if they are "first four" again or are left out. (Though I do suspect they will make it).
Wichita looked good yesterday - good size, good balance.

Funny thing is they are really built for next year.

Be nice to add them before then if they are going to do it.
(03-04-2017 10:03 AM)salukiblue Wrote: [ -> ]Again, I just disagree. There is no recruiting base out there, and no historical history of success.

SIU was hot stuff from 2001-2006 but can't sniff a winning record after losing Bruce Weber and Matt Painter.

I almost took a job in Wichita doing analytics for an oil and gas company there that is quite influential.

If Koch wants to step up to the table, it's a no brainer.
They are COMMITTED to winning basketball as evidence by paying Marshall over $3 Million per year. So they'll have an attractive list of coaches if/when he leaves. ADD THEM!

(03-04-2017 08:56 AM)salukiblue Wrote: [ -> ]So shortsighted. Marshall is WSU. When he leaves, what is WSU's value?

In the last 25 years they've gone to the tourney six time. Five of them have come in the last five years under Gregg.

I'd put my confidence in WSU remaining competitive vs. ECU, Tulane, USF becoming competitive or SMU, UH & UCF remaining competitive - that's half the ACC. The AAC needs BB strength & WSU provides it.

Plus doesn't WSU have some muti-billionaire backing their program?

True. They'd be a good add. Hope it happens.

Yes, the Koch family.

Which is not a minor point - 03-lmfao
Wichita or VCU - either would work.
Add Gonzaga for hoops only and have the conference cover travel costs out of NCAA money.

That's a lot of travel money. Would love to have Gonzaga but its not realistic without a two div approach after adding some MW schools for FB & going to 14-16 schools. That's why WSU is a no-brainer - now.

Out of the box. I was inspired by GP talking about taking the regular season conference champ, giving them a bye in the tourney to the championship game, and then spotting them 10 points to start the game.

Not sure it would work either - more of a joke. But let's think. 18 trips to/from Spokane each year versus Wichita. I just compared flights out of Memphis and they were $175 more to Spokane. Say 30 people supplemented by the league office. About $5k per trip. Less than $100k for the season. How much more do they add to the tv contract, attendance gate, league tourney, and NCAA share money?

WSU does some of the same, but probably not the level or consistency that Gonzaga does. Then if/when Few leaves - you kick them out. Same you will have to do with WSU when Marshall leaves.

Who? Everything I have seen has them solidly in. They are ranked in both polls, 27-4 and have won something like 14 straight with an RPI of 38. Most have them around a 7-8.

WSU won their auto bid and is a 10 seed. 11 seeds are the last four in.

The MVC Co champ didn't get in.

That's why WSU would be attracted to the AAC. They're in a CUSA-type situation or worse & want a higher level of competition to provide a better SOS/RPI. And WSU would help the AAC in the same respect, again a no-brainer IMO.
