DePaul attendance hits 37-year low. They would have been better served playing on campus at McGrath this year. At least then it would have been sold out and appeared like there are fans coming to games.

Thankfully, with new President coming in, DePaul has new leadership that won't tolerate these embarrassing results. Need to put a competitive program on the court or find someone else that will.
New facility should help. I wonder if they could somehow create the Chicago (and state of Illinois) equivalent (or knock off version) of the Philly big 5

The problem with that, for DePaul, is that they will lose most years to Northwestern and Illinois. Heck, with Loyola/Bradley, they might lose those too.
I thought it might help attendance
DePaul should go to the Horizon League. They could make NCAA tournament in the Horizon.
DePaul can definitely compete in the Big East for men's basketball. Unfortunately, they have just had really poor leadership in terms of decision making that has overseen the men's program. Wainwright, Purnell and Leitao (2nd time) have all been truly awful hires.

The unfortunate reality is that, with next year's new arena, DePaul really only has one opportunity to use the new facility as a boom to reinvigorate the program. If they struggle again next year, the impact of the new arena will quickly wear off, and people will continue not coming to games.

Chicago State is awful.
