Your response literally has nothing to do with what I said, Coach. Where are people going to stay? What are people going to drive? Where are people going to eat? And how much are people going to be willing to spend on all of it?

I'm sure the tournament was great in LC. I just don't think Phoenix is as good an option as it seems you believe it to be at this time.
I would wait until GCU has had one year in the tournament before we decide whether or not to move it. If attendance is good next year, I would find it hard to justify it.
Local fans will show up to whatever team is hosting it. NMSU or UMKC. Except Chicago State. The pics of when they hosted the Great West tourny were awful. Maybe 10 people there and thats not exaggerated
I would personally like to see it stay in Vegas. The WAC is only getting better. We can grow into it. No need to take a step back unless the league is hemorrhaging money in Vegas. Do we know that?

Say we hold the WACT in Las Cruces, what would happen if NMSU lost their first game? Probably be worse off than any showing in Vegas.
Blasphemy! The great and mighty Aggies would never lose in the first round. It's bad enough they even have to play a first round game... ha ha.

The WAC Tournament averaged about 1,500 last year, and about 1,100 of them were Aggie fans. If NMSU loses before the championship game, there be like 400 people watching the game on Saturday.
No matter where people think the tournament should be, let's wait for GCU to be in the WACt and see how many fans they bring. NMSU, GCU, and growing CSUB fans could make it respectable. Just get the rest of the conference to at least have a respectable showing

Well starting next year it won't matter where it's played cause Grand Canyon is going to be top 25 and be another Gonzaga and Dan Majerle will gather everyone to GCU arena when they win the national championship and drink purple koolaid (wait, didn't this already happen once already at somewhere called Jonestown?)

Well this year the tourney is being played on ESPNU at least. Last year it was played on something called ESPNN. Hopefully with Grand Canyon, the pride of the WAC we will be on ESPN2 at least next year. Perhaps GCU could just pay ESPN for us to be on there? I bet it would be great advertising for your online college.
I guess we are back on Cult Hour with Dancing... Things never really change do they.

Can you honestly justify Baker getting it over Russell

Can you justify Braun being 1st team? Of course you can. He's your man. Russell should have won but I'm not sad about Baker winning it. IMO WAC coaches are probably always going to slight NMSU and GCU whenever they can. NMSU and GCU will be in the coming years the big dogs in the WAC. Bakersfield is going to take a hard fall next year, trust me. My predication for this year is Bakersfield being upset by Utah Valley/Seattle winner and if NMSU can get past UMKC in the 2nd round they will beat whoever is in the title game. Can't wait till next year. Wanna sit with my GCU brethren and drink a beer!

I don't even think he deserved second team. There were a few players that I would have put on first or second team before I would put Josh up there. He didn't play well for about half the year, but he heated up down the stretch, which I think is a good springboard for him into next year.
I can't justify Braun being 1st Team or Baker getting POY, but here we are. Some of the "Old Guard" WAC coaches (yes, the notion is laughable) are going to reward those who have been around longer. It's why a freshman didnt win POY 2 years ago. It's why Glaze wasn't 1st Team last year. It's why the coaches who led their teams to the best regular season records each of the last 2 years didn't win COY. Politics, man.
No Vegas 16 this year. They'll try next year supposedly. The 2 week delay in play seemed to be one of the major issues.
V16 is an interesting concept, but hasn't been executed well. They couldn't draw a full field in the inaugural year (Vegas Ocho) & are taking a bye in Year 2. I'm not sure I see V16 ever being accepted or successful, unless it is taken over and used somehow by NCAA, much like the NIT. Until then, V16 will continue to flounder and/or die.

If the want to compete they need to pay teams to play like the NIT. It doesn't have to be much to be able to get decent teams and maybe even some lower P5 schools.

$750k is all that is needed to pay each team $25k for each round.
Ian Baker deserved and earned WAC Player of the Year. Period!!!!
