Hello-

Finally found a GCU board. I got my undergrad at Nevada and my masters at GCU when I was living in AZ. This was my first year going to a Lopes home game since the new arena was built and got season tickets after the Coppin State game even though I've moved out of AZ to Denver. As is already known- GCU has the best home game environment in the country- and I've been to games at Duke, Kansas, Utah State, ASU, UNLV and even my undergrad Nevada. I've flown down some weekends when Spirit had some cheap flights and might come down for the KC game. Does anyone know if there are any big plans for the game? I've loved all of the giveaways I've been to so far

Thanks
Welcome, Mike.

You get to root for a pair of decent mid-major programs. I don't follow super closely, but like what ive seen of the job Musselman is doing at Nevada. I know this weekend is Homecoming and (obviously) Senior Night, but haven't paid much attention to anything happening outside of the game. Sorry I'm not of much help there. Travel safe if you make the trip!
Don't know too much about any giveaways, but like every year are Seniors/Graduate students will be honored before the game and start.

I like where Muss has the pack going right now but unfortunately the MW is down this year so we won't be getting an at large if we don't win the tourney.

I'm hoping Nevada and GCU play each other in the near future. Both schools have faced each other in pretty much every sport except men's bball since the lopes moved up. Is there any news about next year's schedule yet?
Not that I've seen or heard talked about. Close out the Louisville series on the road. Maybe finally start the Illinois series, though I'm not sure if it's a 2 or 3 game set. Would be nice to get another game against the PAC12. Maybe a couple more against Big West or Mountain West. I'd love to see us get a regular season game in against NAU. We should be playing them once a year, IMO. Look for them to also do the international tour again this summer, probably to Spain or Australia.
Welcome Mike. Let us know if you make it to the game. Come say hello!
Make sure you guys bring some tissues. I may need some.
The ticket prices this weekend between Denver and Phoenix were real expensive for some reason. I usually get them for $40-60 round trip on spirit or frontier but not this weekend. I'll have to settle for watching the Nevada-UNLV game at 4 on tv then the GCU game at 7. I guess that's the best alternative.

I think the only reason we don't play NAU on a regular basis is because these past couple of years they haven't been very good.

I'm really hoping I won't need them, but that probably won't be the case.
Great day for me- Nevada beats UNLV by 36 and GCU avenges their loss at KC. The crowd looked good on tv
Largest crowd in GCU history, I believe (7500+). They are already pushing season ticket renewal/sales for next year. Their marketing pitch of "Be With Us From The Beginning" is a little odd for those of us who have been season ticket holders for years, but I guess I get it.

It was a good send off for DeWayne. Not a bad way to close out D1 transition heading into 2017-18 either. A handful of players need to take big steps forward to keep pace in the WAC, which is improving at a descent rate. These players & coaches have an off season to test the old saying that hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard.

There may be teams with be more talented rosters in the WAC next year, but can we out work them? We will see.
I saw the push for renewals during the game and I'm hoping I can move my seats to the other side of the arena so I'm behind the teams and facing the students. They're as entertaining as the game is sometimes. I didn't see any sections that have two seats next to each other on that side though. Good problem to have I guess
