Gerhard, Can I ask for a point of clarification for an example of a "real cost" to UC? I just want to know an example of costs that the rest of us aren't thinking about that would offset hundreds of thousands, or millions of dollars a year(whatever the number may be).. Again I just want to know the truth and if you know of other costs that aren't being accounted for in this 33 pages, or the other 400+ pages on multiple threads about the UC FCC relationship I think we'd all love to be enlightened.. Every "extra Cost"(parking attendants etc) I think of comes nowhere close to the extra profits..

I was under the assumption the ticket takers, concession workers and security all came out of FCC pockets..

Just off the top of my head - cleaning (no, wait, I'm sure all of the FCC fans clean up after themselves), maintenance (no, wait, I'm sure absolutely no wear and tear of the facilities come at the hand of FCC fans) and utilities. I would also expect that transitioning the stadium between football and soccer generate some labor & related expense.

My point was, and remains, that none of us know enough details about the deal between FCC & UC to make ANY factual statements as to UC's
profitability. It is all conjecture.

Transitioning, ticket taking, and cleanup costs are the responsibility of FCC.
Graduation is tomorrow at Nippert. I wonder what will be in the Lindner Notches?

Since Doss asked the question...

The graduation stage appears to be on the other end of the field.

They better have some umbrellas or rain ponchos handy.

They said on the radio no umbrellas allowed and that everyone should bring a poncho.

Aslo, Nancy Z to receive an honorary diploma.

It will be a designated area for posters on Bearcat Banter not named doss2 or gerhard911 to bang their heads against the newly constructed brick walls.

Two of the three sites @fccincinnati is eyeing are inside the city of Cincinnati limits and club is working local politicos for $$

Simpson also does not favor city taxpayer money for @fccincinnati stadium.

While I don't fault FCC for trying, any local politician on the Ohio side would have to have his head examined for promising dollars for another stadium.

It all depends on your definitions -- I think FC Cincinnati will absolutely seek (and probably get) "taxpayer money" in the form of tax reductions on whatever facilities they build (so that they don't get socked with a huge property tax bill for improving some vacant land or underutilized land with a $80-90 million facility), tax credits for building something that creates jobs for the city, and/or city-paid infrastructure improvements around the stadium site.

But, that's the sort of the thing the city offers for all businesses looking to build in the city, and it wouldn't require any vote. It's still "taxpayer money" (or, a reduction in the money that would be paid in taxes, to be precise), but it doesn't have the same stink or raise the public ire the way direct financing would.

Honorary Decorate in Destruction. I never felt she was not within her right to fire Huggs. It was how she did it when she did it and the negative effect. In business I avoided firing anyone until I had a plan to replace the person without a substantial negative impact.
What tone deaf academic egghead thought it would be a good idea to give the Wicked Witch aka Nancy Zimpher an honorary degree?

It is not so far removed that most Bearcat fans still remember what she did, the very poor way she handled it and consider it as unforgivable. Good job rehashing lots of anger for Bearcat fans!

An honorary degree is gifted to honor alums, community members, or philanthropists who have made significant contributions to the betterment of the university or city.

While Z may have done some good for the university in raising academic standards and upgrading the student profile she did more damage than good and while she shouldn't be black balled from campus should never be honored or rewarded.

To top that off she did not have the guts to show her face at Homecoming while president and take the booing but comes back now? If she believed what she did was right then show up at Homecoming and take the slings and arrows. #chickenshit

This talk was overdue-there is so much more to say on the subject......
I'll give negative rep points to the first person that mentions Nancy Zimpher, Sippin' Mick, FC Cincinnati, and the Nippert Notches in a single incoherent post.

Any post that mentions Nancy Zimpher, Sippin' Mick, FC Cincinnati, and the Nippert Notches in one post would have to be incoherent.

I just wanted to add that I heard no boos either, except the ones that came from me (and I kept it pretty subdued).

I did immediate get a text from my daughter who was graduating, asking if I was OK. I texted her a big ole BOOOOO.
