Weather is beautiful. It will be a great night for outdoor baseball.
Still no beer in the stands. Why is it ok for basketball and football but not baseball? One more illogical, baffling element of the Rice Way.
Watching the video at home, the scoreboard looks nice. But the folks at the park can certainly make a better judgement on how it looks than me.
Amador is just supposed to go 2-3 innings, tops.
3 up/down, with two struck out looking.
Easy 1-2-3 inning for Amador with 2 K's. Threw a lot of strikes and mostly curves.
Rice strikes out twice as well in B1 (both probably chasing balls) but Gaither the DBU hurler throws pretty hard. Myers with a walk but no hits in B1 for Rice.
DBU clean-up batter crushes a 1-0 fastball for a long homer. 1-0 DBU.

Video quality is good. Like the board in the football stadium. And certainly no black spots, lines, etc.
Willie Ks the side after the dinger.

Per the pitch speed on the board, Willie is low 90s with the FB. Mid 70s with the breaking pitch.

DBU Freshman starter is 92-94 with the FB.
Amador strikes out the next three. 5 K's total.
Amador wisely goes back to curve pretty much exclusively after the homer and strikes out the side. 5 K's in 2 IP. But 1-0 DBU. I could see him pitching another inning.
Runners on corners, 1 out after BB, WP and E6.
I think JP's mic is broken (seriously).

Couldn't figure out what he was saying this weekend (so I listened to the UT broadcast, which is pretty good), and he is muffled tonight (I tried the DBU broadcast, but not much better than JP in terms of commentary).
Sarchet strikes out swinging at a high fast ball.
DBU catcher looks a foot and a half taller than Robbie Lammons.

Robbie hits it hard but at the 2B to end the B2. 2B soft toss to SS nearly pulled him off the bag.
Amador back for his 3rd inning. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gaither only go 3-4 innings himself.

Jefferies warming up in the pen though.

Unfortunately, the extreme brightness of the new scoreboard unbalances the auto-exposure of the video feed, at least for a night game like tonight's. When it's in the frame, the rest of the field looks pretty dark. Pans and zooms to follow the action cause big swings in field brightness, too.
Amador done after leadoff BB. Jefferies inherits a 1-0 count.

I can imagine. It's hard to even take a photo of the thing.
