If the BSC separates itself from Liberty, will the A-Sun invite them. I would think absolutely yes.

Could see that happen.
Do you think the Big South will ask them to leave? They have non football playing members, so may stay
Well..... I guess I’m psychic right!?!

I am happy to be a member of the A-Sun. I hope this message board picks up some steam. I imagine Liberty folks will breath some life into it.

For sure!
Glad to see Liberty join the A-Sun.

I have never visited Liberty before, this gives me a reason to. I think now, the A-Sun has potential to be a very strong conference in a lot of sports. Softball for sure, baseball and Basketball should do well too. I see the possibility of a 2 or even three bid league, potentially.
Here are three articles about the Liberty Flames move to the ASUN.

Atlantic Sun adding Liberty University, giving FGCU's conference nine members. "They've been pretty much the dominant team in the Big South in terms of all-sports trophies."

Liberty Athletics moving to ASUN Conference for 2018-19 season. "During its 27-year membership in the Big South Conference, the Flames claimed a conference-record 13 Big South Sasser Cup trophies, an annual award given to the conference’s most successful athletics program."

Liberty University joins the ASUN Conference. "After the induction of Liberty into the conference, the league resides in six states and features eight of the top 80 media markets in the nation."
All in all, this appears to be a good move for Liberty. It is a fresh and exciting new start. The A-Sun will present competitive challenges thar LU must respond to in order to improve their athletics and play as champions.
Saw this on our board. What is going on at LU?

Nothing. This is simply a smear piece against our President and the university. Jerry has his quirks, but he’s been more than great for Liberty University. He has some head scratcher moments, but who doesn’t? I am glad he is our President. He is doing a great job. I hope whoever follows him can do as much and more. As for the school itself, it is in a great situation and continues with positive growth. Always... Training Champions for Christ!

LOL. That must be some pretty strong Kool-Aid you're drinking.

The bad press just keeps coming painting a picture of toxic players making billions via religious online scam courses while bilking the Federal government out of millions in Pell Grants and leaving victims with tons of student loan debt in the process.

If true, that's pure evil under the guise of higher education.

Literally all of your links are all biased and not even journalism. Having more bias articles who just copy and paste one another doesn’t make it truth. Jerry is not perfect (would take in consideration for him to step down for other reasons) but what is more ‘kool aid drinking’ is that people actually believe what corporate/sponsored media feeds to the masses. Goebbels would be proud. Also to be honest, college in itself is one of the biggest scams in itself just to make people more in debt. That’s another conversation for another day.
Lol. Typical response.

So did you come over here to stir up stuff? What’s your point?

His comment has already answered your response. Call my message typical yet he claims someone is kool-aid drinking.
Much of the things in the article are very concerning, if true. I don't know that they are and the author/article gives off the impression that he/she had a result that he/she wanted to achieve and only went looking for the support to reach that conclusion. Unfortunately, that is typical in many areas these days as people have a narrative they want to further at all costs instead of letting the data/information point them in the direction. It doesn't help that these are all anonymous sources though I do understand not burning sources by exposing them.

Jerry Falwell, Jr. is a lawyer with a degree from the University of Virginia. I don't think he willfully ignores non-profit laws and regulations. I'm sure Liberty has a team of people who look over everything to make sure they are within the rules. They would have been publicly reprimanded by now if things weren't done legally. And some of these criticisms are just stupid. I love how the article puts Jerry Falwell, Sr. in such a positive light when any other article would tear him to shreds. Also, the article criticizes Jr. for growing the endowment, making investments, and constructing around campus as if that isn't his job. His background is real estate and they criticize him for investing in real estate; that doesn't make sense.

However, I'm not 100% supportive of what has happened/is happening under Falwell, Jr.'s watch. I wish he were much less involved in politics. I hope that the school's focus is on teaching Biblical principals and not straying from that. The recent hiring of Ian McCaw and Hugh Freeze are troubling to me. I would hope that the Board would not be blindly loyal to Falwell and to hold him accountable for anything detrimental to LU. Seeing as they have the power to get rid of Falwell whenever they want by a majority (or supermajority or whatever means), I don't think it is anything like what the article states.
More Press from yesterday:

One day after POLITICO published a piece in which Jerry Falwell Jr. denied visiting a Miami Beach nightclub in July 2014 and alleged that any images showing such were “photo-shopped,” a new trove of photos showing Falwell at the club has been released.

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. said Tuesday that he is asking the FBI to investigate what he called a “criminal” smear campaign orchestrated against him by several disgruntled former board members and employees.

Falwell told The Associated Press he has evidence that the group improperly shared emails belonging to the university with reporters in an attempt to discredit him. He said the “attempted coup” was partially motivated by his ardent backing of President Donald Trump.

...

“Liberty owns every single one of those emails. It’s our property. They were working for us when they used our server. And our policies make it clear every email sent on our server is owned by Liberty and if anybody shares it with anybody outside Liberty, it is theft. And so that’s the underlying crime,” Falwell told AP in a phone interview.

An FBI spokeswoman declined comment.

Cybercrime expert Nick Akerman said Falwell’s assertion of a criminal conspiracy is “totally insane.” Akerman said the former board members and employees can share emails with reporters as long as they had authorized access to them and didn’t hack into someone else’s account. Trade secrets are also protected under the law, but Liberty wouldn’t be able to make a case there either, he said.

“I don’t think any law enforcement agency is going to be interested in this one,” said Akerman, a partner at Dorsey & Whitney and former federal prosecutor.

I'm noticing that he doesn't dispute what's in the emails, just how they were disseminated.
It seems this could be proven one way or the other. Some photo shop "expert" or the like. If I was a Liberty booster or their board it would be imperative to have the facts. Why has this story/picture not appeared in the mainstream media?
Does one really have to acknowledge that the information within a coup attempt is false? Isn't it by nature implied that the information is wrong?

And who gives a crap if Jerry Falwell, Jr. was at a nightclub? Who cares if the photos are real or not? What's the worst case scenario? They are real and he was at a club in Miami when he said he wasn't? What's the big deal about that? He wasn't shown doing drugs, with a mistress, or doing anything illegal. The whole argument is "You were at a club! You don't allow students to dance or drink alcohol! That club was owned by someone you may have done business with!" Who cares.
I’m on my phone so I can’t link articles but the new bomb shell that came out is emails of Jr calling students retards and bullying staff members. More stuff is about to come out as staff and higher ups are coming out against Jr.

Once the IRS and the SACS accreditation starts investigating **** will hit the fan. We can possibly get booted from the NCAA all together, and no that’s not a stretch. If Jr cared for Liberty he would step down but he doesn’t, it’s all about $. If students, alumni and fans care then they would pressure Jr to step down before it ever gets that far.
