2. That said, I don't know how you beat a team when the shots are falling like they did for ODU tonight.

1. I think the fans think the sum of the parts is greater than it actually is, especially when the engine has been missing since game one.

2. I agree, but somehow that is Ehsan's fault as well in some people's minds.

No one is saying Ehsan gets no blame whatsoever.

Have you not seen a trend where number 2 happens over and over to us? I guess tonight was the first time a player or team put up a monster performance against us this year..

For the record not "all" of us wanted a young inexperienced head coach who had never coached a game to get this job (what could go wrong??)...and several of us were not shy about those concerns
A lot of us are disappointed but not down on Rob. Keep your eye on the prize a top four seed.

The other coaches I can remember being interviewed were, Chuck Person & Jason Terry. Neither of them have ever been the Head Coach.

It wasn't a serious search, Phil. Ingram had to interview at least three candidates to meet university guidelines. They were going to go cheap and hire Ehsan the whole time. It was an easy choice for Ingram. Give the boosters who snipe at him constantly what they want and at the same time keep the budget reigned in which is what his boss wants. If Ehsan does great, it was his idea to hire him. If not, blame it on the "outpouring" of support for Ehsan from the fans.

Should a top 4 seed really be the objective for a team with this much returning experience and talent?

This group has regressed and continued our trend downward, as others have pointed out. A lot of folks here seem to regress their expectations as well.
The second norton went down it was and I said it back then here and in person at the game to all those around me including a couple posters here. (Sorry folks don't like to hear that but it's the truth) This roster is talented for a cusa team but not that talented. Sorry that's the way it is. Wish I could wave a magic wand and change it. I'm not going to constantly argue with folks about it. I'll say my peace and move on.

JT was my choice think he wouldve done well.

Chuck Person is recruiting well at Auburn probably laughs internally when they win.

Or shooting for a top 4 seed in a 25th ranked conference.

What does he do internally when they blow a 20 point lead to Ole Miss
Person can't even be head coach at his home school. What does that say?

Now that's funny...
Outside of Lee and Cokley, w're not a very talented team. Last season with Norton and Rob, we had four guys who were well above the CUSA average player, and that group still fell short.

We shouldn't be that surprised at the results this season, especially with the loss of both Norton and Rob.

I had hoped Ehsan would be Brad Stevens-lite, but instead we've gotten Haase-lite so far, which shouldn't be that surprising either. Next year, we have a decent group of guards coming in, so hopefully they adjust quickly, and we finally have some guys to pair with Lee, Cokley, and Norton.

The same after a home blowout......
So if we are not a very talented team as some of your are saying, why did we have a major push from fans to hire Ehsan to keep the "talent" together. Something is fishy...

Also, some keep saying these games don't matter, if we by some miracle win the tournament and get stuck as a 15/16 seed, we will point back at these games and say they mattered.

It's because people here speak out of both sides of their mouths. We're a talented, experienced team until we start losing games. Then all of a sudden, we magically don't have talented players anymore.
More like 15 active posters each with 2 or 3 alt accounts to take different positions.

I take the same position on all of my alternate accounts. uh... I mean I have one account and take alternate positions

I doubt the alt account thing is happening but I do think Facebook has cut into the "posting base". Most all the regulars on BlazerTalk have been here for quite a few years. The same posters take the same sides in the same arguments that have been recycled for the duration of the Dark Ages of UAB athletics, from which we are just starting to emerge. Hopefully someday soon we can enjoy the Bubble Watch, the Bowl Watch, and the Rob Smith RPI report. Maybe argue over how high our seed will be in the Dance or which bowl we go to that season.

Message boards may be kinda dated but Facebook (all social media) sucks. I'll take BlazerTalk over that crap any day.

I think you give Fumbles too much credit;

intel had it that he was trying to force an SEC retread on us
