What is it with Syracuse football that they are so infatuated with Virginia Tech football? Let's examine the evidence, shall we?

It started with Michael Vick. Syracuse saw how much VT was interested in the QB and tried their best to flip him. Of course, Vick was either too smart to spend his Winters in Upstate New York (choosing instead to Winter in the much warmer Shenandoah Mountains), or he couldn't find a good place to keep his dogs in Rochester... I'm not sure.

Next, the conference: Syracuse didn't want to leave the Big East for the ACC at first, but once they saw how much fun Virginia Tech was having (winning football conference championships and stuff), then they wanted in. Followers!

Fast-forward to Oct. 15th, 2016: Virginia Tech at Syracuse. In a season in which the Orange went 4-8, clearly their "Superbowl" was the day the Hokies came to town. Geeked out of their minds to face the team they all had dreamed of playing for someday, the Orange defeated the Hokies in one of the biggest upsets of the season, if not the century.

Now, it's the 2017 Spring Game: of all the dates the Orange could've scheduled their Spring Game, they chose the same day as the Hokies! Again, followers.

Therefore, on behalf of Hokie Nation, I'd like to make a request to Oranges everywhere: Please, stop stalking us! It's getting a little creepy...

...and that's just the stuff that you know about!

LOL!
That mascot is kinda weird, a big orange ball. What's really hiding inside that Orange mascot? Could it be... a Hokie?!

Because when you think of oranges, you think of upstate NY.

True. They should have gotten Mogen David to sponsor the team. Could've called them the Mad Dogs.
VT isn't in the Shenendoah
But you guys don't have an I-81

At the risk of sounding like I am defending Syracuse....

Average annual low temp in Blacksburg is 40F (source:US Climate Data). Average annual low temp in Syracuse is (drum roll) 40.1F!

Surprisingly Syracuse is in Syracuse, not in Rochester. Equally confusing, Wake Forest is not in Wake Forest but is, in fact, in Winston-Salem.

Syracuse was actually set to come to the ACC before VT. Then VT's big brother (aka UVA) came to their rescue. UVA threatened to go West Virginia (i.e. nuclear) if the ACC didn't take in their little brother.

VT, Syracuse and 17 other schools have their spring game scheduled for 4/22. It's not clear if you all are following Marshall or UNC-Charlotte?? I do find Syracuse's 10:00 am start time odd though.
For those who didn't catch on, my post was a humorous satire. That said...

Hence, much warmer is in italics.

More indication of the tongue-in-cheek nature of my post: the geographic inaccuracies (Syracuse not in Rochester, Blacksburg not in Shenandoah)

I was referring to Syracuse being approached back when FSU was added.

Doesn't change the fact that VT announced it's date WAY before Syracuse, or that they are obviously jealous and envious of what VT has achieved in football.

The small and inconvenient fact that Syracuse has a national championship trophy while the Hokies' trophy case remains empty is totally irrelevant to this discussion, so I would appreciate it if you guys do NOT bring it up...

Thank you.

I guess my satire doesn't translate very well either.
Edit: Doesn't matter if you use bold, italics, oblique or a fancy font. Average temperature in Syracuse is warmer than Blacksburg.

So did I!
Let me guess, willing to bet the date of the Spring Games are either 4/15 or 4/22.

How'd I do?

You know, the same dates as pretty much every other school in the country.

Guess everyone jocks some VT!

Don't inflate the Hokies head by letting them in on the secret that everyone in the country wants to be like them, NC trophy or not.
