Team captains scrambling for the ball to determine which team has possession to start the game and for OT:

This would be so much better for the sport in general, and would definitely make the NFL a lot more interesting IMO. The stupid coin toss has got to go!!

Player nicknames on jerseys:

I wouldn't do it for regular season, playoffs, or the Super Bowl, but for the Pro Bowl, which is supposed to be for the players anyway, I could see it. Why not?

I wouldn't mind the nicknames in the Pro Bowl; I still wouldn't watch it, but it'd be nice. The scrum for the ball would end badly unless they threw a couple of sixth stringers out there.

That actually does seem better than a coin flip that can be flubbed, as we've seen before in the NFL.

A better idea would be a field goal or FG kicking contest before the game.

How about something like fewest penalty yards during regulation?
