Expectations have been a MACC, Bowl win, and Top 25 ranking for a long
time. The only change now is to get the G5 Access Bowl spot.
A top recruiting class naturally raises expectations; however, as a word of caution: before P.J. Fleck starting getting WMU the top MAC recruiting classes (which did lead to a MACC & an Access Bowl invitation) it was Toledo that was getting the top MAC recruiting classes but they did NOT even lead to any trips to Ford Field to compete for a MACC.

,

You can have a top recruiting class in the MAC that doesn't meet the team's needs, marginal academically, character questions, recovering from injuries, or homesick where the retention rate leave you with half the class.or less You can look at the attrition rate from some of those earlier signing classes and see that was the case.

Indeed. For a few years I used to go to the signing day events and would pick up the sheet with all the recruits, and then compare it to the roster/depth chart at the start of the season, just to see if anyone looked like they may be an impact player right away. Seemed like there were always a few incoming freshmen who for whatever reasons weren't there anymore in September.
This was also with a different coach. Lets keep the pedal to the metal.

Go Rockets!
