Fire!
I hope for big numbers from Darling before his career is over.
This is the part of the season where the team needs to come together. I see some good lineups working. We could shorten the lineup down low to three men at the center/Forward. We also have a good two man rotation at each of the three guard spots. Looking at the stats, they were spread out pretty good. Maybe Darling can keep it up and add the last piece to our puzzle.
This weeks games are going to be very important. We have two games against two very beatable opponents on the road. Unfortunately, this is the scenario where this team falters. I almost think the worst thing that could have happened for this team going into this road trip was a 44 point win.

This team has proven that a little success and they get overconfident and cocky. We have not had a completely successful road trip in conference yet. We won at Rice and North Texas but struggled. And of course there is the disaster at FIU. UTEP and UTSA are easily winnable. Unfortunately the team knows that and are riding high. They are due to come back to earth again. I hope they pull out two wins this week.
Baxter was suspended for one game. My question is....Was Darling filling in for Baxter?
It seems to me that Darlings release has gotten quicker. I feel like he doesn't need as much space to get a shot up as he did in the first couple of games. Perhaps it just looks that way bc he has more confidence to let it fly

If i was Rob he sits three games , but he only got one.

I think Nate filled in for Javien who filled in for Hak.

Its amazing all three have had their career games this year lol.

Darling probably shouldve playing more starting a month and Hak can sit and play 6-9 mins.

Still doesn't appreciate a guy that plays defense. 01-wingedeagle

if you look at previous game
darling was very often open and was not getting the ball
You cannot shoot 3 without the ball :)
Darling appears to be one of the best pure shooters to suit up for UAB in a long time. I felt once he adjusted to the speed of the game he would add a dimension to the line up that UAB desperately needed.

With a whopping 14 steals this season.

Team has the biggest win by point differential without his defense.

A guy suspended for a bench clearing brawl by his on doing.

A guy barely hanging on to be the fourth leading scorer on this team.

At this point had his career game here in his third year, a great on ball defender, and can get to the charity stripe.

That's on the coach. He should be telling players to feed the open man.

Perhaps the team has only recently developed confidence in Darling as a teammate.
I think everyone is reading too much into how well Darling played. It was against USM who played no defense. I've noticed Darling is afraid to shoot when he plays against a defense. As far as getting theball , he is a freshman on a team dominated by juniors and seniors. He'll get his chance. Otherwise he has to make his opportunities.

Agree. Lot of potential. Can shoot and has a high basketball IQ. Needs to work on defense and getting accustomed to the speed of the game...
Getting the ball to your best shooters—what an interesting concept.

Darling is without question our best shooter, but he's as much a liability on defense as Hak is on offense.

However, if Nate were a bigger focal point on offense, would he add more points than Hak takes away on defense?

Lol

Dont bring common sense in the discussion.
Do you guys believe Nottage from FIU would have completed his Jimmy Chitwood impersonation if Hak hadn't been hurt ?
