5 year lobbying ban and loopholes closed.

More winning. So much winning...and common sense.

Quote:So this is a five year lobbying ban, and this is all of the people — most of the people standing behind me will not be able to go to work.

It’s a two year ban now and it’s got full of loopholes and this is a five year ban. So you have one last chance to get out. Good, I had a feeling you were going to say that.

This was something, the five year ban, that I have been taking a lot about on the campaign trail.
I'm not going to be a 2008-2016 republican. I'm giving credit where it's due.
Drain the swamp!
Outstanding. K street just schit is collective pants.
Winning....through leadership!
What a week to be alive

He also gave Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the president’s top military advisers, 30 days to come up with a plan defeat the Islamic State group.

So what happens if they don't come up with a plan or if their plan fails?
Guess we will see. My money is on Mattis.

The current plan stinks. I think that's the most important take away for the deadline.

Right? How can you bet against Mattis?!?

If it fails, what would that matter?

His base will never believe that it failed. All it's going to do is anger the opposition, but it's not going to make his people request to exit the train.

Like it's been said: "There's a new paradigm", "Trump's the wildcard", and "Let's enjoy the ride!".

What would "fails" look like to you?

Real question.

Anything like what we've had for the past half decade +?

Would you have preferred we continue down the same path we were on? That was working for folks?

I'm not arguing the policy. The question was about what happens if the plan fails. I just said that I think it wouldn't matter. Trump's supporters are his supporters no matter what.

Well, I'll humbly submit I think you are wrong.

There are plenty of "supporters" that were looking for a more conservative bent waaaaay back in 2000, and it didn't come with drunk Teddy writing the schitty education bill and the expansion of Med#D, and many have never gone back. I was a registered R, and dues paying member since the first day I could vote. Never since.

Difference being, we (some of us) will call out the miscreants in our midst. The leftists? Embrace them. Make them Party chairmen, put them on stages wearing pretty pink puzzy hats, or even better- make them the nominee of their parties Presidential hopes. Regardless how blatantly, nakedly corrupt.

If this current President begins to falter? The fire from inside the tent will be far worse than that from the out side.

I would've bought that a few years ago, but now I'll believe it when I see it. I don't see anything but fans.

If this president begins to falter and the left calls him out on it, his supporters will simply flock behind him.

Now I also want to say that I should separate voters and supporters. They are two different groups to me.
The question is if you killed the head of the snake, it will always grow a new one. He killed Osama bin Laden, but his people are still going strong. Some morphed into ISIS. Sadly, just like the KKK, it would be hard to destroy them.

This was pointed out at the time, but Obama and his supporters were so busy spiking the football that they did not pay attention. They took their eyes off the ball long enough to let the snake grow bigger than the head was.

I'm waiting for PCM to say something like "draw a red line in the sand, watch ISIS walk over said red line, and then do nothing."

I don't need to say anything. I'm more of a wait and see kind of guy. You guys have made all the excuses and predictions. Time will tell.
