The CFP committee had 3 vacancies. Not one of the new
additions announced had any ties to a G5 school.

An ohio state athletic director was one of the adds

I think there is only 2 members on the committee to represent almost half of the 128 schools

The tools are not even subtle

Who were they replacing? Were they replacing other P5 people? I know Mrs. Rice was representing Stanford.

he three newest members will replace Barry Alvarez and Condoleezza Rice, whose three-year terms expired, and Lloyd Carr, who stepped down from the committee for health reasons.
I know one of the new members will be Frank Beamer. A lot of VT fans can be obnoxious but I do have a lot of respect for him. Hopefully he can be fair minded and unbiased in his new role. But I agree with the basic premise that selection members should represent all Dib IA programs
The one that puzzles me is the President of Robert Morris University. RMU is a football playing member of the FCS. I'm not sure why it's appropriate for him to be a member of the committee instead of a President of a similar FBS member school.

I feel just the opposite. I wish the entire committee had no association with any FBS member. I know that is impossible, but it's the only way to get an unbiased look. Actually, any committee will be biased - I'm for conference champs, but I'm old school I guess.
If they are biased, then I'm really disappointed that Condoleezza Rice couldn't at least get Rice into the Access bowl.

I agree, people associated with FCS and lower Div FB seem like the ideal candidates.

I would be good with that if they would make that sort of thing universal, with FBS reps selecting the FCS playoffs and D2/D3 reps selecting the at-large bids to the NCAA basketball tournaments to also prevent bias.
I still say the best model is a 10 member committee made up of one member from each FBS conference.

That would make entirely too much sense. It would be...dare I say it "fair." The P5 will never let it happen.

Not sure how that would have made any difference.
