Per the Memphis Tiger beat reporter for the CA, Mark Ginnatto. This could get interesting.
2018 and 2019 are laid out on a platter.

Time will tell.
It's a positive for the kid and the Tigers

This is what I was thinking too Keith.

From a friend of the late great G.M.

I already knew
His top schools are Nike schools and Nike has gone to lengths to make sure he played on an EYBL team this year.

Definitely not bad for Memphis, but this is a lot about Nike making moves for the future.

This is about local people making it happen

Any chance of him moving to Memphis & going to East HS?
He could play for Penny & play on a Top 5 National team. Then, head on over to Central Ave with a few others.

Patience
After seeing what Tubby has done with Markel and Martin I would love to see what he could do with a guy like Jeffries.
On a platter, folks.

4 or 5 top 100 guys at East, a school within walking distance of campus and a school that has predominately been good to the Tigers (my short memory says only Melrose contributes more on a regular basis), and a school where a former Tiger great is head coach.

You have the father of one of the highest rated recruits on your staff.

Now, the other top rated recruit switches AAU affiliations to play with those kids, all of them playing on the AAU team with the former Tiger great's name.

It would take an extraordinary effort to not land top 20 classes for 2018/2019.

Agreed.

He will only be in college a year so we may not see as much progress.
Looks like Penny and Thad have gone to war

Tubby has been with us less than a year and Jeremiah and Markel have both made tremendous progress. Even KJ looked a lot better than he had in his 10 appearances last year, before he started slumping these last few games.

But then again, after being coached by Pastner there really was nowhere to go but up our guys.

Penny wins that one. Every time. And I think you're right.
Jason and John were talking about it on the radio a couple hours ago.

Neither think that Jeffries switching to team Penny means he will end up at Memphis. One of them said our chances may have gone from 0% to like 3%.

But what do those guys know, John said there was 0% chance Austin would sign with us over the Vols.

Exactly, they know less than you or I do because they think they know.

When did it become talk show hosts jobs to try and predict everything? What happened to talking about the kid, the team, the school, how good he is and how lucky Memphis, or any other school would be to get him? Why must they always take that extra step and try and predict everything? Has he even given out a list of finalists? I doubt it.
