Fantastic.
Brilliant.
SMART GUY!
If you will not govern yourself, you will be governed by others. And the Government is always willing to step up and say, “Silly children, now look what you’ve forced me do, I had to leave grandma on the front porch in rising floodwaters because I didn't have proper back-up and permits.”

More like:

We didn't have the manpower nor equipment to handle the massive amount of storm related calls because we had to spend a quarter of our budget on bodycams and secure data storage.
This proves that the quality of life in Somalia must be higher than than in the USA! 03-thumbsup

You've never been so much as downwind of a Somali so talking about how Phillips and Seward neighborhoods and Franklin Ave and Somalia are just "the most awesomeness diversity liberty, and the food is sooooooooooo tasty" is risable. 03-lmfao
I think you misunderstood my point.

I was making a joke that a supposed anarcho-capitalist paradise, like Somalia, must be better than a dictatorship like the USA.

Behind every tree... I swear you see one of them behind ever damn tree..
This is an anarcho-capitalist thread.

It promotes a private company in place of government police and fire departments. That's a fundamental A-C ideal.

No... It pointed out that sometimes the police won't come in time, and that essential services won't put you at the front of the queue. It gives an example of a time when someone thought there way around that.

If you have elderly parents living far away something like this is helpful. I have parents who live in WNY's lake effect band and Buffalo is full of Pizza places, so I will keep this in mind the next time my parents get slammed.
Well if the guy was really smart, he would've just called the neighbor to check on her for free.

Not have to waste money on a crappy pizza.

Hey, if you have a relative out of state, tell me the phone number of the person living next door....

Did it occur to you that *maybe* phone service may have been out on the block. Hurricanes tend to do that.
Maybe.

So the moral of the day is: government services are necessary and it's correct to fund them via tax dollars. Sounds good, thanks for creating the thread to reaffirm that. 03-thumbsup

So you'll be moving there next week, right? 03-2thumbsup
Already here!

There's actually an HBO pilot that either has been filmed or will be filmed called "Mogadishu, Minnesota".

I think the moral of the day is, I should stop engaging trolls.

some government services...some....

I don't think anyone would argue with that...well a few would, but they are extremist loons.

The difference between the right and left is more about the number of and size of government services. For me it's police, fire, military, schools (ok with voucher system), college assitance very good. Medicare/medicaid good. Eternal welfare and housing for able bodied people...BAD

Social Security...broken
