to Mississippi Southern....Flips from GA Southern.
He's an interesting kid. Was committed to Georgia Southern who runs a lot of option so obviously he's more of a runner. He's extremely raw as a passer, much more so than Keon. Played in a very run heavy offense in HS and his completion percentage was not good. But that might be skewed some due to the offense he played in.

Overall I like it. He's a project that gives us another mobile QB which we are going to need if we go to a spread option type offense which it appears we are. However, if the kid has to play big time reps before his 3rd year on campus, we're in trouble. Just very raw. Lots of upside though, there's a chance he develops into a superstar. Significant chance he's never more than a backup or has to switch to TE.

Like Judge Smails would say ;"Well, the world needs Tight Ends too!" 04-cheers
The coaches are high on the kid and really went after him hard.
Can he play linebacker?
He is a beast!!!! That's a YUGE QB and judging by the video he can freakin run and juke. Impressive. If he can be a threat on the ground (even right up the middle running over people) that will open up the pass. I like this.
Do our coaches project him at RB instead? Cam Akers was the best RB in MS but played QB. Can you imagine having an RB with his size with Keon and Ito?

Sounds like you got it covered Coach.

Couldn't you say that about any player who ever played though?
Probably set him up in a system like we did with Keon at the end of the year. Him and Howard on the field confuses defenses and gives you options.
No, you can't say that about every kid. There are some that don't have the physical ability to turn into superstars. And there are some that you know have the right makeup to at least be a solid contributor.

If anything, he should redshirt.

I'm not sure why he is listed as a pro-style QB. He looks more dual-threat.

Senior season:
passing - 32 of 89 for 707 yds, 9 TDs, 1 INT
rushing - 131 carries for 906 yds, 11 TDs

Also had 6 fumbles.

He completed only 36% of his passes....... dual threat?

In high school. Depends on what kind of passing game they had. It also depends on what kind of receivers he had. Coaching in high school could make all the difference in the world in completion percentage.
One int in 90 passes is not an indicator of horrific accuracy or decision making.
This young man can bench press 315 pounds according to Hudl. That's pretty mind-boggling.
It's not uncommon at all now to see high school linemen bench over 400. Times have changed.
Per MHSAA 2016 power lifting qualifiers only one benched 400+. Handful benched over 300.

...this is who you remind me of every time you post your made up jibber jabber all over the board goober jr.

I somewhat misspoke. I shouldn't have said it's common, just a lot more than it was 20 years ago. Also, at official powerlifting meets, they have to go past a certain point (touching the chest) for the lift to count. In the high school weight room, where I'm sure that 315 figure probably comes from, that stuff isn't taken as seriously. Also, a lot of schools don't go to the powerlifting stuff. I've personally seen 2 HS kids bench over 400 in the last 2 years. Also saw one squat over 650 last year.
