We face NU once again, this time, however teams have ample rest as this is a Thursday game. The dragons have had a week off with the W&M game being postponed. Long periods off never seemed to be a good thing in the past, so it will be interesting to see how this team responds to time off. This will be a battle, and we definitely let our other game with them slip away, but I still think they have too much talent for us to overcome.

Agree, Dan10. Mediocre teams like Drexel usually get one shot to beat good teams like Northeastern. Drexel had their "wouldov, couldov" shot last week and blew it. And this Dragons team isn't used to playing basketball in a hockey rink.

Drexel 78
Hard to see this as a win. We'll see if Coen can adjust and play us better the second time around like he always used to do to Bruiser teams. Regardless, NE won't let this game be nearly as close as the first encounter.

Not happy with the outcome of the game but BAM. That's the best I've ever done with a prediction before.

Guess we need to start calling you Henry Hill, for your ability to get teams to point shave!
That one hurt. Defense, defense, defense. We just couldnt get a stop. Here's the wrap-up..

Also the court was barely cleared when they started breaking everything down. Must be a hockey game tonight.
Good write-up. Glad we are taking much better care of the ball, but we have to find something that works on the defensive end. Too many teams are having "lights out" nights on offense against us.
Late in the game when we went into the high speed offense scares me a little, because every possession of ours is followed by our guys putting on an ineffective press which results in an easy basket for them. We forced 1 turnover in that mode (TJ) and we gave it right back with our own turnover, when Miles dribbled it off his foot. It just made the score even uglier, and did little to help us close the gap.

Its interesting that you brought up the press. Last night was the most aggressive that I've seen the team work at the ball, and frankly, I wasnt disappointed. The big issue that I had was the lineup on the court when they did so: Lee, Jonsson, Moran, Overton, and Mojica.

They hit the trap a few times and just about sealed it up. At that point, they just need to build from there, and have the extra guys covering the passes a little better.

Also, with the 3-2, one big difference that I saw which I feel REALLY made a difference was the back-side defender. When the wing was left open on their side as Northeastern tried to overload against odd-man fronts, the back-side defender was dropping A LOT deeper into the lane to cover the pass into the mid-high post. It was effective.
