Verbalcommits reports that Toledo has offered Washington (PA) First Love Christian Academy, 6-4 Wing Player, David Collins, who is one of the Pittsburgh area's top High School Basketball players for the 2017 Class. Collins, who recently visited Toledo, has major offers from Cincinnati, UConn and Kansas State along with offers from several Mid Majors. According to Pittsburgh Basketball Report, Collins is a tremendous offensive talent, has great athleticism and can play above the rim.
Another Pittsburgh connection.

How is it we can get NFL caliber players, compete with Cinci and UConn, even a coach but can't get a Primanti Sandwich? Come-on Grad, bring in a Pittsburgh style, enough of the foo-foo food.

Maybe we can use it to get Mr. Collins to commit.

Interesting that we have some small wings and recent offers to shooting guards, but it looks like we are going back to a very small team with no true bigs coming in.

I thought I read that K was done recruiting these guys and was focused on bigs. We need one more at least-seeing Navigato defend the post briefly against Miami made me "uncomfortable".

Amen to that. For all the talk about the MAC being a "guard league", there are some very talented bigs that we would have trouble contending with.
yeah, but at this point if you can get the attention of a big time recruit, at any position, go for it. next years new guys are a pg and a grip of muscular physical athletic 6-5ish guys. not replacements for taylor but i imagine these are guys who can rebound a bit. if collins says no to uconn and cincy and signs with UT in the spring no one should be saying, damn we didn't sign that marginal 6-8 juco pf. plenty of teams have made deep ncaa tourney runs in recent years with a bunch of good physical mid sized guys making up most of the team. of course, it would be ideal to add an impact big man or even another underrated knapke type who will need a year or two to mature.

regardless, gotta give it up to coach k for pulling together the roster for 2017-18. for a minute a lot of folks saw this year's team struggle and jonjon and taylor and lauf graduating and dzewzierski leaving and some young guys looking unprepared. but now we're looking at a lot of new wing and sf talent. sanford emerging as a lead guard and a good freshman true pg coming in, knapke improving. i'm back to being optimistic

I've been waiting for another Tino... recruit small and smart. Who care's? I want winners. Knapke is young. We don't need another 7 footer for a couple years anyways.

Agree, but we have no one who can play big behind Knapke, who is unlikely to be a thirty minute per guy.

EXACTLY 01-ncaabbs Need a back-up for when Knapke gets in foul trouble, injured or tired. Preferably someone with some meat on their bones like Steve Taylor Jr. or Garber.

Unless TK is planning on switching to nothing but a zone D next season...

If they can land this kid don't think for a minute that they won't find a scholarship for Epperson or another quality big man that want to sign up next this spring
