Would the SEC ever consider taking these two schools? They are kind of out-of-the-box, but you'd get two excellent basketball schools, and new markets. If Oklahoma stayed with the Big XII or went elsewhere, would the SEC look elsewhere?
I doubt it would happen, but I like the outside of the box idea, and it would definitely be a boost to basketball. Adding UConn would be the SEC's grab at the northeast markets. I actually think as a university they'd fit just fine in the SEC. It would also allow the divisions to reshuffle a bit, maybe sending Auburn/Alabama to the East and Mizzou to the West.
You could break out the divisions as follows:
SEC EAST
UConn
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Alabama
Auburn
South Carolina
Georgia
Florida
SEC WEST
LSU
Texas A&M
Ole Miss
Miss St
Arkansas
Missouri
Kansas
Kentucky
