Price scored 1 point. Couldn't throw it in the ocean. But if he didn't play, they would have beat us by 10+. The leadership and confidence he brings makes us 15 points better. He runs the team, and I don't know the stats but I'd say our turnovers are way down the last couple games if I had to guess. A possible goal for this team would be to go .500 in conference play. I don't think that'll happen, but it would be an improvement and a sign of life for the program.

JB....known Tim Floyd all my life....played pickup basketball games with him, yelled together at bb games in the old field house, caught crawfish on Gordon's Creek, fished together at my grandfather's pond in Midway, and did other stuff not printable on a family website (

This is common with Floyd. Those that know him seem to have one of 2 opinions on him. That he's an absolute jerk, or a great guy, rarely anything in between. I've met him once and thought he was a nice enough guy. But a lot of the things that have happened during his career are tough to ignore. Whether it was his trouble in the NBA, NCAA trouble at USC, or his past few years at UTEP, there always seems to be some issue holding whatever program he is associated with back. At UTEP, especially his first few years, he recruited great and got several supposedly really good players from our area. But most of them would always have some issue that led to them not lasting more than a year or 2. He's had countless transfers and academic issues at UTEP. They are awful this year, but even now they have 2 guards that both big time recruits, I believe their PG was a 5 star. But because of defections and injuries, they have absolutely nothing outside of 2 or 3 guys.

Up until the Chicargo Bulls fiasco, Tim was probably Top 5 in the most wanted BB corches in 'murica, and he was rarely (if ever) associated with turmoil.....Don't know why he took that thankless NBA job (probably "millions" of reasons, dontya think?) post Jordan/Pippin, but Tim was never gonna be an NBA-type coach (although having the departed Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippin probably woulda made him LOOK like a great NBA corch!).
Not sure what to think about the USC fiasco, since USC is known to flash-the-cash (USM did it, in an albeit lesser role, in the late 70's, early 80's) in all sports.....I guess if you like Tim, you can say "everyone does it", and if you think he's a jerk, you can say "what an irresponsible asshat!"
Only seen him at USM sports events and class reunions since he left USM for La Tech all those many moons ago, so I don't have first-hand knowledge of his integrity (or lack of) any more, but I would gladly serve in any proverbial foxhole with him and always call him a trusting friend.
As bad as we are.....and we are horrible.....how bad are these other teams??? WOW
I'm not saying we are good or even average. But with Price back, we are a division 1 team. With him out, we were not.
I mean technically we were always a D1 team. Bottom 30 doesn't mean you're good though.
