G5 hit piece. So their contention is oh no FAU subsidizing the athletic budget by $16M. They might mention that FAU's operating budget is $700M.
I saw a piece recently where the avg NCAA football attendance this season was just over 40k. Much of the "empty stadium" syndrome seems to be with the "P5" schools with the 70k seats only drawing 50k.
Most of these stadiums were built before the era of ubiquitous media. Going forward newer stadiums will be built smaller more emphasis on being set up as studios.
