Golden Gophers looking for a new coach. Not surprisingly, Fleck's being mentioned as a candidate.

Not entirely a crazy idea that Fleck might go there. Gets him into the Big 10 at a school that has occasionally had some success.
better option than Purdue. good school, new facilities, decent size tv market, but a lot of drama lately with their AD and such. PJ is a players coach and the players there nearly boycotted their bowl game (at a nice bowl) because they feel the AD sold them out.

but the AD is still there, rumor of mass player exodus.
Jerry Kill is boycotting the University of Minnesota in protest.

Its what happens when you torque off the boss.
Looks like Minnesota has talked to PJ.

They want him because he can get the players to stay.
I hope Fleck stays. I strong WMU is good for the MAC.

Hope he goes and his recruits all transfer to UT.
Reported on 13abc tonite: Negotiations with PJ are under way. 6 years $21 mils. Who wouldn't abandon boat for that?

So how many open scholarships do we have, because his recruiting class this year is going to bail from WMU very very quickly.
They could pull a Candle. Was Fleck their only recruiter? Others will follow him to Minn. Were a lot of those recruits on our lists? Booting someone to make room, wouldn't be good. I wouldn't expect a big change in our recruiting class because of this, too many other places and ours is probably near set, right?

Class is pretty full right now and a very good one.
PJ Fleck has accepted the job at Minnesota. He is now the lead Gopher.

Those recruits are going to WMU because of Fleck, many of them are going to abandon ship quick and commit to Minnesota. WMU will not get to see the ugly side of football and PJ Fleck.
Wonder if Fleck will try his Row The Boat shtick on the P5 level, or if he'd be laughed at by elite recruits. It would also be interesting to know if he actually had any offers from other schools.

Last I heard we had 4 spots, but that was sometime before we got that JUCO DE. So 3 or less.

Land of ten thousand lakes but he might rather paddle the canoe.
maybe "lace the skates" since that water in Minnesota is probably frozen more often than not.
