anybody know if football recruiting will pick up? we are currently ranked 12th in C-USA right now..
It's the dead period through Jan 11th. Expect big weekends to host HS recruits to be weekends of Jan 14, 21, 28(probably a few more Jucos). Dead period basically means coaches can't meet players or parents face to face & coaches can't watch players games or practices. Coaches can only write letters or make calls to players/parents. I wouldn't put too much importance on the 17 class than the 18 class. We will have a few guys that will be seniors academically, but will have 2 yrs of eligibility left who will leave after they fill our depth and experience needs just for the upcoming season. Believe we'll probably have quite a few more scholarships available for the '18 class than ppl think at the moment.

NSD has been the first Wed. in Feb and in 2017 that is Feb 1st.
With the dead period ending Wed. 1/11, the next three weekends (1/14,21,28) will be important for recruiting.
we've got 21 give or take commits / signees right now. anyone know how many we are taking this class??
Do midyear signees count as last year(2016) or this year(2017)?

2017, I'm almost sure. On Feb.1, we will probably be closing in on the 85 limit anyway, unless some drop out for whatever reasons.

They count toward the February signing class.
Do we have any players in 2017 that will be seniors? The way it's looking, the 2018 class will be really small.

Yep. Can't think of anyone else besides these 5.
Due to UAB's unique situation I imagine there will be quite a few "seniors" on the roster who chosse to continue playing past graduation...
