Coach TK deserves credit for the schedule. Each year he does a good job with this in my opinion

Don't reach too high. Give your team competitive winnable games

Not sure how they count games like this. I think they don't count for or against you and the chart seems to confirm that, as it lists only D1 games. I do know the Rockets were originally to play in a tournament in Texas that got cancelled late. OC was the best schedule filler UT could find by then. K said he would really prefer to have had the two games in Texas.

That's correct. It's treated the same as essentially not playing the game in terms of SOS calculations.

That's interesting that they had a second tournament. That surprised me since they already played in the Nashville tournament and I thought it was an NCAA rule that you could only do one early season exempt tournament a year.
So Toledo fans and general fans in the area get the opportunity to spend their Friday night watching Toledo play Ohio Christian...exciting!

Coach K talked about this earlier in the year. The exempt tournaments are those in the early part of the schedule,no? I assume this was more like the old Blade Tournament. The women payed several of these a couple years ago to prepare for MACC Tournament because they feature back to back games.

Per Coach K, the option was going nearly two weeks without lacing 'em up in anger, then starting the conference season.

Circleville: and I was disappointed when Toledo destroyed the Stranahan Bldg.[/quote] to build an empty field and a bus-stop.

Quote:The city was originally laid out after 1810 within the 1100-foot diameter of a circle of a Hopewell tradition earthwork dating to the early centuries of the Common Era. The county courthouse was built in the center of the innermost circle. By the late 1830s residents had tired of this design and gained authorization from the state legislature to change the layout to a standard grid, which was accomplished by the mid-1850s. All traces of the Hopewell earthwork were destroyed

If only NASCAR had already been invented, what a piece of history Ohio would still have to share.
Good to know H2O, thanks!

So, they're going to be "angry" playing NCCAA D2 Ohio Christian or are they going to be angry because they have to lace their shoes to play NCAA D2 Ohio Christian? I suppose he didn't clarify.

He responded to a question about why they're doing something silly with silly reasoning. I don't think this is a case of two sillies making a sense. It's great that Julian Egbo's parents will get to see him play at home but does this show regard to the season ticket fans to have them paying for such a match-up or does it not really matter?
The Rockets will tie OU for the last MAC team to play against a lower division team. Some have played multiple lower division teams and this game wasn't originally on the schedule if you believe Kowalczyk. UT has played lower division teams since I can remember. Not sure it's different than football bringing in a D2 tomato can for an annual beating. Timing makes some sense- should be an easy tuneup before MAC play.

I didn't know about the men, but the Lady Rockets had the very same problem when (I think it was) a Texas A&M @ Corpus Christi hosted tournament was cancelled at the last minute----they still got a single game with A&M-CC but and had to schedule Madonna late in order to keep a full schedule.

Wow-maybe I'm confusing the two. Probably did-apologies to all and thanks for the clear-up. Still, one D2 or lower game is pretty standard fare. Again, T-Town, thanks for catching that!

Don't know about the men one way or the other, but just to be safe maybe ALL UT sports teams should avoid accepting any invitation to play in any tournament in Texas for a while at least. 03-wink

So they got a bunny just before conference play. Not like this has ever happened before, and not only Toledo.

BFD.

Play the younger guys, get ready for the MAC.

^ This. We have three of the MAC top ten in minutes played. Adway, Antunez and/or Roberts need to show they can step up and get some minutes.

Yes.

This means nothing, but at the same time it does. Some need rest, some need minutes. The goal is getting to Cleveland.

They have played a pretty good schedule (RPI) and I think they can compete in the MAC (early to tell I admit - but always a slappy).

Sometimes all a guy needs is a chance. The bad side of that is the potential help is slim and none. I don't see a guard that can help this year. At some point that will be the downfall (maybe even as the season goes (I could see a 500 season as well).

Thanks to the guy here who keeps us up to date on all the Toledo opponents (and scores), that's time consuming, tedious, and thankless. Well done and thanks again.

I'd buy you a beer if we ever met in a bar. :-)
