Kudos to Brandon Stith. 6 for 6 from the free throw line from a 54% shooter. He is proof that it can be done.
Porter also showed some willingness to be aggressive on offense. It was nice to see.
30 points off the bench, wow. Of course lead by Talley, who had a excellent outing. Porter off the bench is looking more effective. Brandan solid game, dbl-dbl and 6-6 from the line, POG.
Keep forgetting that Caver, Talley, and Porter are sophomores. Nice nucleus to build around.

Him being 6'7 doesn't hurt either.

Huh, I read somewhere that he had no jumper.
Another convincing win, another instance of silence from the usual suspects. We looked pretty damn good in the second half. Boo birds with nothing to say?

Cue the comments regarding having more important things to do than to watch yet another game against an opponent who we should have blown out by 50 before the first media timeout. Oh and the majority fan base has no standards for basketball. Did I get to most of it?
Sounds about right. Those who didn't watch missed an exciting one. Whatever. More room on the bandwagon later in season.

Looking at the box score, Caver 9 assists and only 1 turn over, that's solid play for a PG.

I think BJ is a soph too and Brandan is a Junior. We are very young.
Caver has to get some breaks. I know it is tough because he is so good defensively but he started missing shots at the end of the game, because he had no legs. He always comes out hitting and the end of the game he struggles. I know it's tough but Jones has to find a way to get the kid some rest. 9 ASSISTS and 1 to...Anybody know the last time that has happened?

Talley is awesome. Normally people call three point shooters "zone killers" but I like the way Talley gets into the middle of the zone and knocks down short jumpers. I expect to see him back in the starting lineup next game.
Surprised Fields didn't get in earlier last night. He generally logs a few minutes in the first half, but didn't get off the bench until garbage time last night.

And, what is going on with Pinckney? He's seen 1 minute all season.
Kudos to Howard. They played really tough with missing a couple key players. Their zone was solid. Williams is a freshman and had a beautiful shot. I hope their other players return soon, they should do really well in conference play.

Talley looked like he was ready for redemption. Pulled up shot after shot right there on the foul line in the soft spot of their zone. It was refreshing to see someone consistently make shots like that.

Randy looked a little better, but still pretty raw. I think given time to develop he's going to be a really nice 3rd punch behind Talley and BJ. We are pretty deep this year as long as everyone stays healthy.

Jordan and Randy alternated defending the hot hand in Williams. Jordan obviously better, but Randy is no slouch on defense.
I'm not as hot on Randy, and I was a big fan of him coming to ODU. His defense to me seems to be a liability and he not getting to his spot to get a shot off. I think he's still playing to fast in his head. I think it clicks and.he.gets his flow. I was very high on him coming in.

I didn't think that last night was one of his better games, but RH has definitely the tools to be an important contributor.

At the moment, his style of play reminds me of a stronger, but less graceful, version of Aaron Bacote. I look forward to watching him work on harnessing his skills.
Coach lit him up a few times in the first half, but was pleased with his effort in the 2nd it appeared. He slowed down and made better decisions after the break.
Dont be surprised if Haynes takes BJs minutes. Seems to me that Jones is starting to shorten the bench a little and BJ and Fields are going to have to improve if they want signifiant time.
Not real sure why Caver played 39 minutes either. This is part of the reason he's struggled at the line IMO. A lot of ballhandling and defensive responsibilities on his shoulders so far this year. Seems like fields could get 8 min a game...

If Williams continues the way he's started this season, I'd be highly surprised if he stays at Howard all 4 years.

That's almost Drew Williamson-like! Remember that CAA tourney when Drew had NO turnovers for all three games.
