Where are the fans????
I have been watching. What just happened is epitome of ref BS. That is not targeting no matter how you see it. I can't blame Tulsa HC for yelling at Refs.
Why did this game start so early on a Monday ?

Can't interfere with two and a half hours of MNF pregame coverage...
NFL game tonight. Can't interfere with the Shield's plans.
I'm a skins fan so I'm biased

Definitely had a bigger crowd for our game last season vs USF....Sucks though to have a bowl game on Monday at 230 this coming firsthand from being in game last year..Do people really care that much to watch Washington vs. Carolina on MNF tonight? Forgot who played last season but the MNF game was even worse...NFL primetime games for the most part this season have been horrible and ratings have shown this, no ready ESPN to be that scared to air a bowl game, hell start the game at 630 then would only cut into some of the MNF game or have the MNF game on west coast after bowl game, either option would work..

Yes, let's stop pretending Tulsa and CMU on a Monday afternoon matters that much.

I think you may be biased. I'm not suggesting this game should have been scheduled opposite MNF, but I expect you're far more interested in Carolina's 5% chance of making the playoffs than the average viewer.

Two teams fighting to hang onto incredibly long playoff odds...meh...
Last year WKU fans alone would have been a better crowd than what showed up for today's game..... and thats crazy. WKU does have a decent travel fan base though

I'd debate that the redskins are that far off, but that's not the subject at hand lol

So idk if any of y'all are actually watching it, but... RIP Central Michigan... 48-3 Tulsa, late 3rd quarter.
55-3 now. Completely outmatched the entire game.

Considering Tulsa reported average attendance 19K and CMU same was 17K did people actually think that either team would travel 1400 miles (Tulsa) or 1500 miles (CMU) to watch a game on a Monday at 2:00 pm local time that was on ESPN with a 4th place AAC team vs a 6th place or so MAC team. But I'll defend the fans as had USM gone to the New Mexico Bowl or Boca Raton bowl I wouldn't have traveled to either one. As it was, there were 14 in my group in New Orleans to watch 2 teams who were 6-6.

Bowl games might be WKU's one bright spot when it comes to attending, we had 4-5k in detroit in a blizzard and then 5-7k in Miami last year. We have a hardcore group that will always be there, its our casual fans that aren't to that point yet

I don't think Tulsa brought more than 3 or 4 thousand to the Liberty Bowl against Iowa State in 2012, and that's only a 6 hour drive to Memphis. But Tulsa is also the smallest FBS school in enrollment at 4600.

I have to defend my school with that comment Cotton. I was part of the 10-15,000 that came to the 2005 Liberty Bowl. I had tickets & would've come to the 2012 Liberty Bowl game, if not for an ice storm in NE OK & Arkansas. The storm wasn't as bad as actually forecasted, but the forecast kept a large # of fans home.

Tulsa's home attendance has been worse than ever in recent seasons, but our bowl game attendance is usually much better than expected. I've attended 8 Tulsa bowl games in 5 different states, & I've always been pleasantly surprised at the turnout.

BTW, they need to quit scheduling Tulsa bowl games against MAC teams. 3 bowl games, 3 blowout wins. 63-7, 45-13 & now 55-10.

It's the NFL, it wouldn't matter who was playing...Tulsa/CMU would still be irrealevant.

Sorry to burst your bubble but most NFL fans really don't care that much about anybody but their own team. About half of my family are Raiders fans, half are Giants fans and the rest are Steelers fans. They only watch their own teams... and I only watch the Titans. Just how it is. Bowl games are more universally watched by CFB fans though there aren't as many college fans out there.
