Here's one: Why did a state legislator, a donor, a basketball legend, and James Spann get kicked out of the Bartow Arena concourse at the Auburn game for signing people up for the Bill Clark Football Excellence Fund? They were put out into the cold outside. Why are we fighting against ourselves in the athletic department?
It was embarrassing that several were kicked out. Donors volunteering their time, former football player, basketball player, Jack Crow, Spann, and Clark were forced outside in the cold and rain. Were not even allowed to borrow a table to use. Had to go to the football office to borrow a table in the rain while several were available in Bartow. Everyone involved was polite and took it in stride even while one of the female organizers was in tears and everyone was still professional and polite in spite of the treatment.

Just more of the incompetence that people have to put up with under the Ingram administration.

WOW ! I probably would've gotten arrested had I been that group.

That shows there is still a heavy ANTI-Football presence in or controlling the Athletic Department.
Everyone involved on the Honorary Coaches end acted polite and appropriately in spite of it all. They took the high road and was able to raise some funds and press the flesh. James Spann was great.

I don't know if it's as much anti- football is as just having a leader with zero vision and organizational skills or the AD just doesn't give a damn.

Sort of. I think the anti-ness is directed toward us (FreeUAB) and the Foundation. We saved football, not them. We raised the funds that made it happen, and we created the environment to make that fund-raising possible. We worked in concert and all of our efforts were necessary. It was a pretty miraculous thing, if we look at it objectively.

But who did that? The roll of honor is gigantic, filled with names off this message board, with Golden Girls and bowlers and riflewomen and tuba players and ferocious black-haired cheerleaders and many more. With the Kaleidoscope alums who kicked the living hell out of Clay Ryan and his bumbling band of bozos. Alumni of all ages. The former players. The Foundation. Haddon Smith. And still more.

Who's not on that list? Fumbles and anyone in his employ. And that has to be an incredible professional embarrassment. The story of The Return is what we did despite the AD and President. They can take no glory, they can take no satisfaction. And that burns inside them. It burns with an unquenchable fire.

They hate us.

I read that as "They aren't against us, but they aren't exactly for us either."

Thanks 58-56.

That's ok. I wear the hatred of these sphincter muscles as a badge of honor, and I despise them in return.

It's time to turn up the heat again, people. The football season is over, and basketball is running fine with little need for the Athletic Department to be pushing season tickets at this point. Where is the all out drive to sell football season tickets? Why isn't this at a rolling boil on the front burner in support of Coach Clark?

More to the point, why in seventeen blue hells is the Athletic Department sticking daggers into Coach Clark and the others involved in the Honorary Coach fund raising campaign? This wasn't an error, this was a deliberate decision. The staff at Bartow did not just decide to refuse to put these people in a high traffic area and do all they could to help them, and putting our Head Football Coach out on the street is not the sort of thing that some underling came up with.

I want someone's head on a platter, and at this point my number one candidate is our so-called Athletic Director.

YES !!! These are the posts I missed for so long. It is good to have you back, brother 58-56
Made me smile.
Cuervo is still on the Athletics Staff Directory Web page

So is Adair, just means no one has bothered to update it if someone even knows to update it at all
He was paid in full for November ... we will know about December on the next payroll on Dec 30th [Image: 99f14841f81df0e3baeabd4d458e1d4c.jpg]
I missed a golden opportunity to ask Fumbles in person where the Cuervo was tonight. Because that would've been the only shot that went down smooth for us.
$120,000 per? No wonder we have an athletic deficit.

We're asking an awful lot of people who make an awful lot less than that to contribute money to restore UAB football. This walking piece of worm dung's salary and absolute lack of performance is a personal insult to every donor.

Mark Ingram needs to resign. Tonight. He doesn't even have to catch the plane back from Austin. Just go climb into a dumpster behind a Dunkin Donuts and stay there.

We bleed and we sweat to make these donations and this is how Mark Ingram spends our money. Go to hell, Fumbles. Go directly to hell. Do not pass Go, do not collect $400,000 or whatever bloated figure we're paying you to eat doughnuts and destroy the organization.

That means as much as a promise from Bryant Jr or Fess.

and as far as payroll that is a way to pay someone off basically. You are gone but you are still drawing a check for so many months. He is gone as gone can be.

I agree Ingram needs to go. He is a walking disaster.
Looks like Cuervo Gold dun took the Gold and run!

Attalla is right in asking why his departure has been covered up. There are so many odd things surrounding the athletic department right now, when we should be gearing up for the glorious return of Blazer Football!

Did you get an answer from email?
Why is this being covered up by the AD?
Sounds like an NDA might be in effect...
I believe I saw him in a wheelchair tonight at the Women's Basketball game. I guess he's been in the hospital or something.

Gee, now I kinda feel bad about gossiping about him! 03-hissyfit
