The difference is one group of players attempted to oust a university president 'cuz "white privilege", or some nonsense like that, and the other is upset over a suspension of ten players with no explanation when the
four players have been cleared by police.
The players are in the right here and donors will surely have more sympathy.

The fact that 4 players were released and not charged does not mean that the football program doesn't have a right to suspend players as they see fit. If they capitulate to their demands, they're only encouraging similar behavior (nationwide) in the future.
