Good for them. Glad someone has the guts to stand up to Obama's fascist Title IX directives.
The gophers are a mess in most sports. Hoops, Football, and Wrestling have all been marred by scandal. The AD had to step down because of his own shenanigans.....
what a mess!
LOL at "our demands". The entitlement of fk'in' leftist millennials knows no bounds.

Like Mizzou, enjoy the 8-figure drop in donations that is soon to come. If the players follow through, Minnesota has the right to and should rescind all of their scholarships.

The difference is one group of players attempted to oust a university president 'cuz "white privilege", or some nonsense like that, and the other is upset over a suspension of ten players with no explanation when the four players have been cleared by police.

The players are in the right here and donors will surely have more sympathy.

Rescind all of their scholarships? Fantastic. And you may not even be able to sign enough Division I guys to field a team in one class.
LOL. First post is about heroic football players standing up to evil leftist rules. Fourth post is about spoiled leftist football players needing to be put in their place. Classic.
Minnesota has a football team? Who knew

OP was being facetious (notice the similar wording to Mpls' thread), and that's the thing about leftism, it eventually cannibalizes itself.

Teams rules and the law are two different things. The fact that 4 players were released and not charged does not mean that the football program doesn't have a right to suspend players as they see fit. If they capitulate to their demands, they're only encouraging similar behavior (nationwide) in the future.

It'll be a clusterf*ck, regardless.

Then at least give an explanation to the rest of the team. Apparently no one on the team knows why they were suspended. Don't do this because you're scared of the Title IX police.

You simply cannot legally disclose that information.
Title IX is a problem.

Especially when it comes to the possible paying of players.
College educations are expensive.

....which was exacerbated by the "Dear Colleague" letter (Link) issued by the Department of Education in 2011, basically calling for, as WaPo wrote (Link):

Quote:... pressuring schools to create quasi-criminal justice systems on campus that fail to adequately protect the rights of the accused.
Oh yeah, the boycott is over. Minny to play in Holiday Bowl.

I think that's the one thing that all parties agree on. There seems to be some disagreement as to whether there's anything wrong with that.
