YEP...We get alot of respect...

ESPN didn't even mention Eli in the Top 10 canidates for the Heisman.
I certainly don't expect Eli to win the Heisman, but do you really believe what you hear on ESPN? 03-razz
Didn't realize the Heist-man was such a big deal to you, Pea. Why don't you use all of your money and power that you "say" you possess and alert the national media and make a big stink about it. Call Fox, CNNSI, E$PN, and all the rest. You can do it. 03-lol I'd love to see you waste all that money cuz no matter how good Eli does or how much national press he gets, they ain't gonna give it to no SEC kid, trust me, especially one from Ole Miss. The Heist-man is a political joke. Anybody that thinks Eli has a chance in hell at this stupid trophy is fooling themselves beyond belief.
If you watched the College Gameday opening show, you saw Fowler and Corso praise Eli with a bit of Heisman talk. Herbstreit said he'd better worry about winning games first. Can't say I disagree.

One more thing, Pea, why on Earth is that Cutt's fault again, cuz I don't follow your logic in blaming Cutt for that....if there is anything to really blame him for regarding this? Archie was the one who has downplayed this whole Heist-man thing, and for good reason. He knows how political it is.
So how is this Cutt's fault again? I'm dying to hear your explanation for this. I figured a man with such inside knowledge of Ole Miss as you have 03-wink 03-wink that you could at least figure out that the downplaying of the Heist-man by Archie wasn't exactly inside info. :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
What is really going to jerk my chain is if we do have a great season and he's not taken seriously.
Of course I'm still afraid that unless our ground attack materializes we will still be stuck in the 7 win rut and the Hei$t-man will be only a nightmare instead of a dream.
STANDARD peanut comment...you are really scraping for something with that post. Lie they said, "How is that Cutcliffe's fault?"
Had PEA done ANYTHING the National Media could remember, it would have helped Eli...

FOR EXAMPLE...
-6 OT Game and we're known as the LOSER...
-Slump in EVERY November since PEA has been here (every sports writer knows about it)...
-Just can't win the big game. EVERY voter knows that we don't win the BIG, CLUTCH games under Coach PEA...

So........

Ole Miss and ELi get NO respect under PEA because he's thought of as a WATER BOY, CHOKER and a LOSER by all other coaches and reporters!!!

How else could we have such great TALENT and not even be in the coaches Top 25 poll...

How come we had SEVERAL STAR players under Tub that writers all around the country would report on...But now, it's only Eli (who came to Ole MIss NOT becasue of PEA).

Oh, I guess it's Eli's fault that NO MATTER WHAT, If Coach Pea has a run played called then by god-it's a run play (even with 11 in the box)...

Anyone who STILL thinks PEA is the man for us...Just wait till about Oct/Nov...You'll be ready to join the Reality Squad too!~
Seven overtimes, Mr Wizard.

Ummm...sorry to disappoint you Pea, but I don't do that. You do get points for creativity though.

First, that wasn't a typo. A typo is something like "teh." You were spreading misinformation.

Second, the abundance of CAPITALIZED words IN your POSTS is NOT only UNNECESSARY but ABRASIVE as WELL!!!!!!
Yeah, we all just agonize about our spelling over here on the Isle, pea>NUTS. . .

(pssst. . .if you had ever actually attended a class at the University, you would realize that spell check is redundant for an educated man. . .)

All that shiite aside, though, fat boy, can you put down the pork chop long enough to post a coherent, intelligible message?

Your logic seems to run:

Eli threw interceptions.

Cut coaches Eli.

Cut throws interceptions.

Is that it, you intellectual mammoth man of earth-quaking IQ smack-titude?

(::laughing up my sleeve at you::) 03-lol
I agree with what Peanut says about our inability in the past to win the big games during the season. We do indeed seem to get spooked when a critical game comes up, though we sometimes seem to pull a miracle in games we are supposed to have no chance in.

For us to be taken seriously this year and for Eli to have any chance at the Heisman, we HAVE to win against Texas Tech, Bama or Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, South Carolina, win the games against the weaker teams we have this year, and play close games in the ones we lose.

I agree that we will not do this if we don't get an effective running game. And we are going to get smashed if we do that run, run, short pass, punt stuff we did last year.

I am not willing, though, to assume that this year is going to be a repeat of last year. I want a good season and I am not going to start trashing Klutzcliffe until and unless he does funky coaching decisions again this year. As for an effective running game, if we don't have the backs, we don't have them. We could cuss recruiting for that lack, but then it is always possible that there just weren't any out there that we could get.

Apparently, according to some people in my neck of the woods, we should have a decent back. There's a blurb in the article below about this guy Abrams as an "impact newcomer".
To me, an impact running back would be one that allows pressure to be taken away from Manning. We'll get killed all year long without putting up decent rushing stats(and, of course, preventing decent rushing stats). I'm looking forward to seeing this new back in the opener tomorrow.
Anyway, some may be interested in reading this article. It's an SEC preview from the Times Picayune's perspective(my newspaper). There's also some good stuff on Deuce in there.
