I've never been to a UVA/VT or VCU/UR basketball game, but if anyone here has, are those games close in atmosphere to last night? I've been to many ODU/VCU games at The Ted and the Siegel Center and they are off the charts. Last night was incredible aside from the result. This is the top rivalry in the state isn't it?
One of the best in the nation.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.
I've been to many of these match-ups and they often end with the entire crowd standing and cheering on their team in the waning moments. It's hard to top the atmosphere of these games.
VCU-Richmond is pretty heated too. Uva-VT can be but it usually requires both teams to be good. Do NSU-Hampton have a good hoops rivalry or is that mostly manifest in football?

04-chairshot Booman Booman Booman come out!
Definitely proud to have ODU as our rival. This is a fun series when we win and gut-wrenching when we lose which is exactly what you want in a heated rivalry.

It's not the same intensity as in our CAA or Sun Belt heydays, but it will always be one we circle on our calendars.
JMU vs ELON?

(classic battle of CAA heavyweights with national implications)
I don't care what some VCU fans say, this is still a heated rivalry. You could cut the tension in that gym with a knife Saturday night. Even though the Rams came out on top that was one of the most fun basketball games I've been to in a while. Unfortunately the game has been reduced to hold no implications other than bragging rights, but this is a game I look forward to every year more than any others

+1

Having come down from DC for this game, it kept me on the edge of my seat until the last 7 seconds. The arena felt lively and full of a rivalry spirit, so much so you could hear VCU fans almost over shout ODU when spelling out O-D-U in a cheer during the 2nd half.

It sucks that we let this one slip away, but with that first half of play being on fire, it gave me optimism that we may find our way come conference play. BJ is starting to find his groove. I felt that Caver was letting the game get to him in the 2nd half which is why he seemed to keep slipping up compared to his demeanor in the 1st. But we live and learn.

On to the next one. 04-cheers
