Wonder if his stint at Toledo made him any more attractive a hire for them.

IMO, Charlie Cobb was a complete idiot for telling him he had to go somewhere else if he wanted to take over for Jerry Moore. May have cost App State an FCS national title or two (should have won it Armanti's senior year for sure) and on top of that it might have made him more poachable.
Cincinnati is set to hire Luke Fickell. Likely a done deal.
Yeah, sounds like there was definitely mutual interest there but Cincinnati is going with Fickell. If App is good again next year though I bet he'll get his chance, keep an eye on NC State as Dave Doeren's seat will be red hot going into next season.
Any chance App sweetens his deal in an effort to keep him?

I know you guys can't afford to keep him against a P5 program, but maybe an enhanced contract would keep him from bailing to another G5 (that is striving to be P5).
UC has already hired the Ohio St coordinator

We may be able to pay a little more, but UC would pay $1.5 mil+ and there is no way we can compete with that. Most G5 schools don't pay enough to lure him away though, and four of the ones that do will have new coaches so no worries there. He's like ours until a P5 comes calling.
Is there any evidence that Satterfield was interested, or even that Cincy was interested in him? From what I saw it was only someone on a Cincy message board reporting it, and everyone just running with it.

ESPN and a couple others reported it
you can make a strong case for him to not take the CU job even if it was offered, simply because if we have another good season next year, he will probably end up with his pick of P5 programs, as mention NC State would be the obvious choice if their present coach doesn't win atleast 8 games next year. I could also see him hit the jackpot and maybe end up coaching in the SEC, or Big Ten
Satterfield will eventually leave if he keeps having success, but looks like App will get to keep him for another year. Good for the Mountaineers.
agree. I think we are good for one more year, but if he wins 9 or 10 games next year, he is probably gone, along with most of the staff.

You read my mind. NC State would make complete sense for Satt. They recruit exactly the same states as App, and Satt has tons of connections with those states (VA, NC, SC, GA, FL to a lesser extent). And he is a proven winner.

I'd love for App to keep his as long as Jerry Moore, but I can't hold him to a standard I would not hold myself to. Anytime you can multiply your salary by four without selling your soul, you almost have to take the opportunity.
Not trying to start anything but could he be like Hudspeth at Louisiana. A lot of wins but no offers.
He will get offers. Hell we will take him right now

I don't see Scott jumping to a P5 school from App. He has never coached at that level in any capacity and only a couple of years away from Boone. If he has aspirations to coach at that level, he will either have to have extended success at App or take a higher profile G5 job like a Cincy or a Houston. I'm not sure he will be gone as quick as some think.

Hudspeth has never won more than 8 regular season games at Louisiana. He's been good, but somewhat over-hyped, in my opinion.

Lol... funny

Cajuns are probably stuck with him after the NCAA mess they went through... one vacated SBC championship isn't gonna get him a lot of looks

He doesn't run the TO.

Saw more option out of App this year than GaSo
for what its worth, I think SS could use another year at App, this year he has made some mistakes concerning clock management at the end of the Tenn and Troy game, he might get away with these mistakes at App, but if that happens at a big time P5 program he will really hear about it. I just think he could use one more year to "fine tune" his coaching
