UNCW has 1 point in the AP Poll, which is the first point for a CAA team since you had 4 points in Week 15 last season, which was 9 polls ago. The point came from Elton Alexander of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He likes mid-majors better than most voters. He ranked Gonzaga and St. Mary's better than their overall positions and was one of four voters to rank Valparaiso (he had them 24th). I know Gonzaga and St. Mary's are consistenly better than most mid-majors, but after teams like VCU, Creighton, and Butler joined one of the top six conferences or the Atlantic 10, I appreciate any respect for teams not in the top conferences.
I think that's the same publication that gave us votes last year as well. Hopefully more will join them, but we'll need to score some more big wins here before CAA play.

Thanks for the info!
That's a start!
UNCW has no points this week. Somebody (College Poll Tracker hasn't updated yet to say who) gave 1 point to a Loyola-Chicago team who is 140th in the RPI with 2 losses, no away wins, no wins against the Top 100 of the RPI, no wins against a team with a better winning percentage than 5-4, and a strength of schedule ranked 292nd. I wonder if a mid-major has ever gotten a poll point with that bad a resume. http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2017/s...la-Chicago has Loyola-Chicago's schedule.
Disappointing, but not surprising. Just gotta keep winning to get respect. Overwhelm the pollsters with wins to the point where they can't ignore us.
Would be nice to crack this list but may be better to stay under the radar until March

Could not agree more.

I'll say it...

It's down right garbage. MTSU should have done cracked the T-25, and we should at least be on the cusp. This BS of getting one vote in the AP last week, we go on the road and beat a team in a conference ranked above ours in December, don't lose during the week and we come out with zero votes???

That's BS.

MTSU has beyond proved they belong in the T-25.

No other way to describe it. It's BS.

Yes, we get to stay "under the radar", but we also get to get screwed by the committee come bubble time or auto-bid rank simply because they never saw our name. That "under the radar" thing only works until they give you an awful matchup. And let's be honest, our OOC schedule is almost over and the CAA absolutely knows we're coming. The only people being fooled are the talking heads at ESPN that probably couldn't find us on a map of North Carolina if we circled ******* Wilmington for them.
And one more interesting question...

I just took a look at the ESPN Coaches Poll Board of Coaches. Why is Bruiser Flint still on that board and associated with Drexel?

Please for the love of God someone tell me this is some weird mistake.

Absolutely. 2 good wins this week @ South Alabama and vs Vanderbilt, both by double digits, should have delivered a lot more love than the 7 points they got in the AP (32nd) and measly 3 they got in USA Today (39th).

That's even more baffling than our no-show, though I am certainly not thrilled that the Cleveland Plain Dealer, in completely inconsistent fashion, opted not to give us their vote this time around. At the very least we should have been able to count on their support.

The explanation is that before listing the coaches, it says:

"The board for the 2015-16 season..."
