Say what you will about Pearl, but I respect that he's scheduling us, coming to Birmingham, and recognizes us as a respectable program.
Coming to Birmingham is self serving. It helps him in recruiting and building the fan base.

He also takes on a bigger risk of a loss though.

I completely agree...last year the game was a sellout in Au and this year a sellout at Bartow Arena...this basketball series is good for UAB and it's good for basketball in the state (a football game in 2018 or 2019 would be great too)

They don't have to play us to play in Birmingham...Legacy Arena is just sitting there waiting
I am aware of that.
& thanks to Mark Ingram it's like we have a 3 for 1 deal with Auburn.

How? Dont we play the 3rd game in bham?
At Legacy. Which isn't our home court. Which will have at best a 50-50 split of fans.

So what you are saying is true home court, true home court and true neutral court. Seems pretty awesome deal for both schools.
Away, Home, Away, Neutral. No it isn't an awesome deal for both schools.

Ingram Bo Bergdorfed us.
This is basketball. There has never been a 50/50 split at the BJCC when we play Auburn. It has always been overwhelmingly UAB
Y'all complain a lot about UAB getting raw deals. What have we done to earn 50/50 split with any schools in power5?
Why do we not deserve it?

Why would a team come here to play a team under Mike Davis and Hasse with an RPI 85-150, & more than likely lose.
I can't believe people still b**** about the deal we made with Auburn. Tomorrow night will be the first capacity crowd we've had in 5 years, and we needed Auburn fans to accomplish that. Outside of one shocking win in the NCAA tournament, it's not like UAB basketball has really been nationally relevant since about 2006. I know Auburn hasn't either but they can sell out games without scheduling us. We cant.

I agree! This is going to be an awesome night. Sign me up for this every 4 years

Lol, maybe if it was someone other than Auburn I would see your point. Why would anyone travel to Auburn with their year and year out mediocre-garbage RPI to possibly lose?

Auburn basketball has been a disaster. It's nice the rivalry has been renewed, but it's not like they're doing us some huge favor.

This is on point.
The last injury we had that was as devastating as the injury to Norton was Delaney IMO.
