My theory is they're too damn similar.

How long before Ark State is considered App's primary rival thanks to our athletic director(s) dumb hires?

I don't suppose they have to get along do they?

Nothing wrong with a conference full of rivals, really the way it is supposed to be. Shows signs of maturity with our members, and that history is slowly growing.

Part of why when given the opportunity we jumped

I liked Arkansas State until I found out how dirty they were as a team from top to bottom. Their coaches are ass holes and I heard the story of last year's game when one of their defensive players held Sims McElfresh on the ground after a play and spit in his face.

Don't worry CCU, you'll get your rivals. Baseball season is right around the corner and you are coming in with the biggest target on your back. And you are in a conference that loves it's baseball.

I think you are greatly over exaggerating there. You listed one instance. I'm sure App has had a player do something similar. Every team has a player or that has been known to take a cheap shot, just like the Georgia St player recently with the cup check. Doesn't make the whole team dirty. And how are our coaches ********? You are just seeing what you want to see.

I don't dislike App fans in general or App as a team. They have, by and large, great fans and a great team.

There are like... 3 people who post on this board who are ********. That's about it.

It's really only a few stAte fans on here that I'm not too fond of, just for their complete obsession with App. Just kinda odd. I'm sure stAte fans would say the same about a couple of our fans.

Most, I assume, are good people.

From everything I hear, the two administrations are tight, AState asked the league to look at App and Georgia Southern when the names EKU and Liberty were tossed out by the league office (where an assumption was made that neither would leave FCS and at least one member didn't want a second Georgia school). AState was opposed to further eastern expansion based on the names being put forward but as soon as App suggested Coastal, AState was all in and became a Coastal advocate.

Supposedly Anderson and Satterfield get along great so either Sattefield is a wimp pushover or the dirty play stories are just that, stories.

The fans may annoy each other but where it matters, AState and App are tight

I've heard the same from our administration. They have a shared vision.

Fans don't like each other, but the schools really get along well. That's what is important in the end.

I still have a working theory is that some of this is because neither fan base is used to having someone different challenging them.

I hope that someday, we'll have a conference where we can hate everyone equally.
