Made the mistake of going to the game tonight. About ill watching us give up layup after layup. How many years does this have to continue before its addressed?
It won't be addressed while K is here. No one can believe it will be. It's not his style and he wins with his style. Defense will always be an after thought.

Have a hard time believing we are ever going to the ncaa tournament unless there's some dedication to defense.

Why don't we just press like hell? Either force a turnover or give up ge usual lay up and get more possessions to score on offense.

We had some pretty athletic teams that IMO should have pressed a lot. But we rarely do.
Coach K may not be the answer. It maybe someone else that pushes UT to the NCAA tournament.

well, a couple things. first, we won the game. mainly because we played good defense on an excellent player in the final few minutes. Second, at least we have some guys w defensive awareness - taylor is a big help- and a few with on ball skills - esp lauf. thirdly, with the 3 point line team defense is less valued. the floor is spread and it's hard to guard the basket. for those of us who grew up watching a college game w only 2 point shots, a well coached team could help and sag toward the basket, protect the rim and the only consequence would be giving up decent looks on long jumpers worth 2 points.

I have no promises we will play good defense. coach k has usually won, and usually won with offense. i do see some more promising signs on this year's team especially with our height and a lot of big guys using their verticality. if garber didn't tick off officials for whatever reason and was allowed his space we would look better. if we can get dewszierski to be half decent on ball and navigato to move his feet and help we won't look so bad. that was a pretty good offensive wright state team today. there was definitely a stretch where we played rec center d, but there were also stretches with solid team d and good plays at the end.

Coach K has been a head coach at two DI programs for 14 years without going to the NCAA's. What makes anyone think he knows how to get a team to the tournament?
