Legit chance Coastal could play for the conference championship in each of the 3 Championship eligible fall sports.

I'm not sure how we don't play you guys for volleyball championship
Congrats! I really wish we could restart men's soccer. Coastal may be the team that takes the Bubas Cup away from us.

I've been calling for this for years. Add sand volleyball and men's soccer.

It's possible, but a lot of it will depend how basketball and track do for them.

South used to have a men's soccer program, it was 20+ years ago, but we had it.

Edit: we dropped it in 1999, we were reigning Big South champs at the time.
Congrats.........I knew it would take long!!

why usa drop men soccer?
Why does no one in the deep south have soccer? Seems so odd to me. Even the SEC schools.
Congrats Chants! Getting another soccer school was a definite plus to adding CCU.

Honestly, I can't even remember if you're good at any other sports.

There was a series posted in an British Tabloid that sort of addressed this a while back. The Author traveled around the United States to get a feel for the soccer culture here. He found himself welcomed most of the places and found a vibrant culture. Everywhere except the American South. He found most of the South was indifferent about soccer and only cared about college football.

I think that's your answer. Soccer has just yet to become mainstream in the South. There are patches of fans, yes, but not near the number of teams and facilities to help the game grow.
Coastal men's soccer won their first round game vs Redford today. Now on to the Demon Deacons.

"Coastal (10-6-3, 3-1-1 Sun Belt), which is playing in its seventh straight NCAA tournament, has now advanced past the first round in each of the last six seasons. Coastal Carolina's first round win is the first NCAA Tournament win by a Sun Belt men's soccer team in the 14-year history of the league, which sponsored men's soccer from 1985-1995 and from 2014-present. Coastal was making the seventh NCAA tournament appearance in Sun Belt history."

On to Wake Forest! Go Chants!
