Torn ACL per the MRI today

Per his dad.

Drew will Update when he can.
That sucks
Not surprising. We will see how this team responds to this. Personally, I think losing Norton is a huge blow from a leadership standpoint.

Agree. He is a coach on the floor.
They have to reconsider the redshirt for watts, right??

We have no real point guard on the roster now otherwise.
Down to 10 active players, no point guard, 8 - maybe 9 can be counted on to really contribute
Very very concearned for the loss of our star point gaurd Mr. Nick Norton. Hope he comes back even stronger, hopefully he can be a coach on the bench and return next year even stronger take his year and come back. In the mean time Hakeem Baxter and the new kid Nate Darling can fill the void and continue the progress to the goal of the year and carry the position of leader. If I"m correct Nick did well as a freshman its time for Nate to show his skills, he and Baxter are going to have to run the team we are to early in the season to be concearned to much work has been put in. Nate is going to have to get use to carrying the ball him and Baxter and the team are going to have to carry the point and let Nick Heal and coach and win and win. Also Javien William can stand up. Its kind of like this play with what you got and we got Nate and Javien Williams willing and able to step in Get Nick Healed for the next cause we got to play and win sincerly and one man can not make or not make the team unless you lose Jordan from the bulls and they still had Scottie Pippen get the team ready and play no losses at home this year and beat Western.

I think you mean Lavender rather than Darling...
Does anyone think darling is really ready to contribute? Are darling, lavendar, or j Williams really point guards?
I'm assuming it was the same knee he tore up his junior year in high school. Often those turn out to be ticking time bombs. Honestly it's better it happened now so that Nick has the maximum amount of rehab time and can apply for a medical redshirt.

Yep. And from a team standpoint, so that the new point guard can develop before conference play.
I agree. This is pretty devastating no matter what, but this is the best timing for something like this to happen.

no really I mean Nate. He's not a true point with all respect have you watched the NBA Lately He can play point unless their going to press then maybe knot then all you have to do is pass the ball to the big man and reset the offense and run the offense. It can be done. If there going to press then call time out and put Baxter Back in.

There's not another point guard on the team. That's exactly why we've offered so many point guards in the past 2 years.

That's why I'm thinking Watts has to reconsider his red shirt. He's always been a bit on the heavy side.

Agree. If the only reason Watts is redshirting is because of the dept at guard, like Ehasan said, then that's no longer the case and the redshirt needs to come off.
Big loss. We're still a talented team, but Nick is the leader. He's a coach on the floor, really knows the offense, and is great at distributing the ball. It also puts us down a 3 point shooter.

Is it the same ACL he tore in high school? If so, those are usually harder to come back from.

If I remember correctly, we haven't had to deal with a season ending injury since Paul Delaney.

Yep. If the weight is the issue, he needs to man up and get back into decent playing shape. He's always been heavy, so I think he could still contribute even if he's more overweight. This could really be HIS year at the PG. He could run the show for a good team and end his career on a high note.

Next year he will just be Nick's back up again, and potentially even further down the depth chart.
