Quote:At the end of our September conversation, Lichtman made another call: that if elected, Trump would eventually be impeached by a Republican Congress that would prefer a President Mike Pence — someone whom establishment Republicans know and trust.

“I'm going to make another prediction,” he said. “This one is not based on a system; it's just my gut. They don't want Trump as president, because they can't control him. He's unpredictable. They'd love to have Pence — an absolutely down-the-line, conservative, controllable Republican. And I'm quite certain Trump will give someone grounds for impeachment, either by doing something that endangers national security or because it helps his pocketbook.

If Trump has any appeal to me, the prospect that the republican establishment cannot control him would be at the top of any list of reasons why.
Yes, I get that. And I think that 90% of people who voted for Trump would feel the same way.

So what do you think would happen, if the establishment ousted him in favor of Pence? Pitchforks?

I think it would depend somewhat on facts and circumstances.

I think Trump has some good ideas. I also think he has some terrible ones--specifically relating to his ideas on Muslims, Mexicans, and free trade. If he gets hammered for pushing his good ideas, I might personally be hauling out the pitchforks. If he gets hammered for wandering off the reservation, I might be supportive of the attempt to remove him.
Well I would hope they'd try to go the latter route.

Looks like Trump might already be trying to head them off at the pass by willingly agreeing to surrender the "real" power to Pence in turn for just being a figurehead: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powe...on-effort/

Quote:Vice President-elect Mike Pence will replace New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as chairman of President-elect Donald Trump’s presidential transition effort, a change that will cement the Indiana governor’s influence over the incoming administration’s policy and personnel.
WaPo, owned by Bezos who hates Trump. Guys quit posting insane stuff.
Yep, even though the guy predicted that Trump would win!

As soon as he says something you don't like, it's propaganda.

How much you want to bet that what that guys says will not happen?
Lichtman. One of the few who said Trump would win. Not Bezos.
Those who vote to impeach him would be committing political suicide if he does nothing wrong.

Not going to happen.

Probably not. It made the news because he got the Trump win right. If he said Hillary by 5, no one would have heard him say this. Still, doubtful he's going to continue a winning streak.

are you so uneducated that you didnt even read the article?

His prediction that Trump would be president was based upon historical data and facts.

He says his prediction of an impeachment is based upon his "gut". So, basically you are wetting your pants over what someone says which is based on an area where there is an abundance of flatulence.

The "educated butthurt" crowd needs to start thinking for themselves, instead of being spoonfed what to think. If there was ever a time that proved that you got spoonfed a bunch of turds, this was it.

Please, for the love of God, starting thinking for yourselves.

It would nuke the GOP for a decade. They all know that, so it won't happen unless there is a real shift among republican voters..

Not going to happen.

Who would try to impeach for... nothing?

The whole supposition is based on he'll do something to give them a reason.

Lichtman gave two possibilities, "something that endangers national security or because it helps his pocketbook". Lots of things could happen.

Trump is President. No impeachment will happen. Live with it. The left can dream up any scenario they want, but Trump is and will be President. If the Dems had not nominated an evil, corrupt, fraudulent b#tch, you might not have lost, but you did nominate her. So, live with that also.

the end of the republican party as we know it ...

M.A.D. (MUTUAL ASSURED DESTRUCTION)
I don't think for one minute Republicans will impeach Trump.

For those thinking impeachment, you probably have it completely backwards. In 2 years, there will be about 28 democratic senators up for reelection, of which a chunk are in republican red states. They arent thinking impeachment. They are already jumping on the Trump train because they know that its not Trump being removed from office they need to be concerned about, its their own butt.

Joe Manchin saw it early on Tuesday night. You should read what he wrote about Harry Reid's post election comments.

Anyone who is planning to try to harpoon what the voters put in place need only to look at the long line of carcasses that tried to subvert the will of the people.

1. Jeb!
2. The republican establishment
3. Main steam media
4. Hollywood elites
5. The Bush Dynasty
6. The Clinton Machine
7. The progressive movement
8. Russ Feingold
9. Evan Bayh
10. The DNC

Now tell me, how afraid are we that 2 or 3 rogue rino's are going to try to harpoon what just happened. So instead of talking impeachment, grab a f*cking cot or sleeping bag and be prepared to put some long nights and weekends working for the american people until the start of summer recess.
Where is Bison? I guess he doesn't want to make a bet.
