DEFENSE!
Oh my!!!!

Seven wins!!!
Well we dominated the turnover battle.
If So Miss can just hang onto the ball it would be a different story.
Glad the boys got another W.

Wow.

True, though our offense went conservative with a big lead. Who knows what it would have done in a tighter game?
I will say this for So Miss, I think Howard will be a force to be reckoned with as he matures as a QB should he be able to keep ahold of the ball.

Yup. Someone needs to nominate him for the Piesman.
So after all the deceit this week they end up pulling Howard's redshirt. I suspect they knew early in the week, maybe even after last week's game, but they were keeping it "in house". I think it was the right decision if concussion was the diagnosis. Howard is very raw and has a lot to learn but he has a lot of potential. I'm glad we finished them off and didn't have an epic failure.
I don't think I've ever seen a team score over 50 and thought the offense was not clicking. Except for tonight. Even in the first half when we weren't trying to run clock. The defense really came up big in key situations. They gave up 35 points, which isn't great, but turnovers and sacks won this.

We would have loss if we didnt get the turnovers. We got 35 points off turnovers. The defense won this game, while the offense was still full off Taco Bell. The offense was slow and pathetic.
Awesome win 7-3. Their defense actually competed well but we got the sacks and turnovers (and td). No close home games so far this year.

That dude was amazing, I was never comfortable with even a huge lead as long as he was running all over the place and making plays. Just think, three more years of him for conference teams to face.
Not unusual for a QB with no track record or tape to come in and have a monster game. However, I do agree this kid has potential. Rocket arm, just not sure how durable he'll be game after game running as much as he did. Fumble problem will probably be corrected.

Agree, great potential. He limped off the field at the end. Put the ball in his hands to run a little too much and I think it took a toll on him at the end of the game.

You must be a blast to be around.

How's your 3-9 prediction working out?

Anyone know what happened to the USM kid in the first half. I didn't even see anything happen on the field. He came off the field on his own, but they rushed medical staff to him on the bench and had him surrounded by staff holding towels to block view. I was assuming it was a pretty serious injury. They did let him sit upright on the bench for a bit before bringing a cart for him. He was able to walk himself to the cart and sit in the front seat.

He was grabbing his groin as he was down (or that's what they showed on TV)
From where we were sitting in section 117, it appeared as if the kid had a seizure, hopefully he's doing well.

Does anyone know what that ******* towards the end of the game was upset about with the Southern Miss bench? He was yelling and pointing at several players and continued to do so along the entirety of their bench? Real classless move on his behalf.
