Make no mistake--this was a big game. A loss at Akron would have been wheels-falling-off-the-bus bad. It was a slow start again, on both sides of the ball, but then the offense really got clicking and the D started playing well enough. Candle gets some of the credit in leading the bounce back from a bad loss to Ohio. Now, if we can just get Hester and our 2 injured O line starters back...
With the depleted DL, I thought we played remarkably well up front. Our secondary couldn't cover a sleeping toddler if they were a blanket. Too many wide open, streaking recievers. Good to finally see Hunt square his shoulders and run up field, break a few tackles.

Comfortable win and the running game was effective tonight. That touchdown at the very end of the first half was a game changer in that it represented a big momentum shift in favor of the rockets in that it gave them a two score cushion.

The Rockets responded very well to last week's loss (unlike the last time they played at Akron) so they passed the test this week with flying colors but there is a tougher test coming up next week------of course from this point on it is going to be a new test every week and one failure from here on out will flunk them out of the MACC race.
