Is in Destin this weekend vs Florida.

Closed to public.
Of course it is closed to the public or otherwise it wouldn't need to be a secret.
Yep, just thought folks would want to know.

It's closed because that's how the NCAA says it has to be. It's a semi-secret because they don't want to hassle with a bunch of fans trying to get in anyhow.
If Calipari gets his way, these games won't be closed or secret anymore. He wants to have a couple of exhibition games prior to the season.
I almost agree with him. I would do one DI and one non DI. I don't see the DI game getting approved in the current climate for recruiting. Yea he wants it because he has the best guys money can buy. Vanderbilt does not want it to be public they lost to Belmont for example.
I wonder if they're playing in the same place as that tournament last year.

That's my guess... unless they play at a high school, there isn't any other venue in Destin (Niceville, really).

I've heard that yes, they are. It will be good to finally get a win on that court, since we always win our secret scrimmages 03-wink
We supposedly didn't win the one last year.
We lost last year. lol but we have won a few. MSU is our scrimmage b****
We lost to a low-mid tier SEC team and then lost to a low tier SEC team in our first game :(

Wonder what day & time. I'll be in the Niceville area Sunday. Would hate to find an open arena door. ?

I put zero stock into what happens in a secret scrimmage.
Well dang, I just came home from down there.

That place is so small, it would be almost impossible to sneak in without notice.
Nice little arena.

Yup. I know why it's closed to the public. Secret, semi secret, tomato, tomatoe, etc.
The thing about secret scrimmages is most of the time the moment one team starts to pull away the losing team starts working their rotations.

The way the media pundits are these days we'll hear on Twitter if Florida "won" but you won't here about it if UAB does. In the case you do they'll be excuses made for Florida. Last year Rothstien tweeted out that Miss St "handled UAB easily". He loves him some Ben Howland.

Long story short unless you're there watching it from the beginning take anything you hear with a grain of salt.
Makes you wish the NCAA would allow such informal scrimmages in football. UAB would probably benefit from being able to practice against players whose tendencies might be less predictable.
