The 6-foot-10, 210-pound Gueye is a three-star recruit in the 247Sports composite. He's now at the Aspire Academy in Phoenix and originally from Dakar, Senegal.

Gueye joins Jacksonville, Fla., point guard Zack Bryant as commitments for UAB in this class. UAB has three scholarships left.
Robert Williams must have taken him to the Cheesecake Factory.

This is YUGE!!!
Awesome news. Once he gets on a college weight program and adds some strength he is going to be a beast.
Life is good!!! Now we just have to fight off the "thieves in the night" heading up to signing day on Nov 9th...
Yes!!! Good pickup.
Nice.
Great news! This is one we needed. Good, skilled forward that should be able to fill Haha's role. If Gueye sees the floor as a freshman and Haha doesn't turn pro early, having them on the floor at the same time would be fun next year.

If we can add Hollingsworth in the November period that would be great. Then I'd like to see either a Juco or transfer to fill Tosin's spot for a traditional big.

On Rutgers fan board... they were pretty optimistic about getting him when it came down to us, them, and DePaul.
How do you pronounce his surname

HaHa is not turning pro early.
This is a great get, and I'm really happy for Ehsan. Hopefully some people will step off of the ledge now when it comes to his recruiting ability.
6'10 with that mobility? Wonder why more schools weren't after him?

Hopefully, Gueye turns into our Paul George.

He really come upon the scene this Summer. I suspect many of the larger programs had already keyed in on their top targets. He was/would have been a standby for most of them. Looks like Louisvile(and maybe others) wanted him to wait until Spring. A UConn fan posted on al.com that UConn was about to offer him. Any offers from basketball power schools at this date would have probably been as a potential Spring signee...
UCONN did offer Gueye, but then they landed Tyler Polley

Scrolling through Twitter timeline. He received offers from UAB, Rutgers, Marquette, Creighton, DePaul, UCONN, Florida, VCU, Monmouth, ODU, UTEP, St. Bonaventure. In that order.
Guy got skills!
It was a huge commit. We could not afford to whiff on another big. Find a JUCO center next year and we are set.
Again, I ask:
How is his last name pronounced?

Thank you. I didn't know that site existed.
