Did tx state get flagged for their party in the endzone ?
I'm sure the officials were the reason why they got blown out.

That would require them to get into the end zone
TX State has been outscored 258-165 so far this season and is 2-4 (0-2).

I wonder Potomac, if you strip away the points scored by both teams in their two wins, from the total number, what is the cumulative score in the games they've lost?
Actually just looked it up.

In their 4 losses they have been outscored 187-61, and 34 of the 61 came in one game.

Withers cannot coach football yet he remains a football coach, incredible.
I wonder how good they are feeling about stealing him away from us.

While this may be OT, there's zero chance EW would have coached our team to 6-1. I do give him credit for striking while the iron was hot. I think he was expecting us to struggle this year so he left before the offers dried up.
We owe EW a huge thank you for leaving. If not for that I think we would be miserable right now. Instead we are 6-1 and instead of talking about if we would be making the playoffs, we're talking about competing for the top 4 spots in the country.

I was thinking about this after the UNH loss. I thought, with the same players but EW as the head coach and Schor as the QB, we would be 5-2 at best right now with at least one CAA loss.
Withers is mot and has never been a good coach. God bless Texas State

Such a nice guy too....
I'd say we owe the admins a big thank you for H amd this staff...very well done.
Interesting...The same posters that are critical of me harp on Everitt Withers and clearly hope he fails in Texas.

You can be butt sore over Withers if it gets you through the night (Lennon). A fact, Coach Withers left JMU to be paid significantly more cash than he could ever earn at JMU...what would you have done, hung out with our Jeffry and Jon Boy at Jess' Quick Lunch?

NEWSFLASH: Everitt Withers is no longer is associated with JMU. Let's focus on our own problems.

I love all the hate for Withers! Never liked the arrogance. Thank you Texas State. You made my year. AMF
To be honest, I stopped liking Withers after GameDay. The rest of the season was painful. I thought we had a very poor defense and he was supposed to be a defensive coach. It wasn't like he inherited a bad defense. He was overly stubborn in trying to implement a scheme our team clearly didn't fit into.
He was a sore loser and I didn't like how a guy that preached being tough couldn't be professional.
I hated the way he dealt with some prospects, taking away their offer. He was giving our school a bad name in the recruiting circles.
I hated the way he treated Matt Jones even though I didn't like him either. He should have had the professionalism to keep that dislike at least a little under wrap.
I didn't like the way he left and especially his wife talking trash afterwards. No class.

Since this is a post about Withers, I felt it was appropriate to actually talk about the guy. It's not like I'm taking every thread out there and throwing him in.
In all fairness, I wouldn't like him this year if he were our coach. I think we would be 4-3 right now at best and most of this board would be screaming for him to be fired. To make matters worse, unless he left, he would have at least been here for another year after this one.
What did Withers say about the officials that earned him the reprimand? Is it on tape?
Not sure if this is it or not but around 6:45 he starts talking about officiating and replay. He made sure to also take a shot at the CAA as well.

"We gotta stop the run. We have no chance if we can't stop the run."

Sounds familiar.

Also that reporter was playing him so well. He knew bringing up the officials and the CAA would make Withers say more than he should.
Mike Houston is leaps and bounds ahead of Everett Withers as a coach, man and human being in general. EW has very little character and when the going gets tough, he makes excuses and then he leaves town. So thankful that TX ST came along and hired him away so that we could land Coach Houston, so thankful. Go Dukes!
