interesting commit. most highly rated freshman bball recruit we've had in a while, which is not to say he's a top 100 recruit (more like top 300). also, son of derrick rose's oldest brother Dwayne who was said to be kind of a father figure to young derrick. so, if he sticks we should be getting both a talented player and a connection to one of the game's biggest names (who btw graduated from same HS as current rocket stevie taylor).
looking at his mid jr year highlight reel and trying to read between the lines of 100% shooting and perfect plays the things which stood out to me
1) good size. about jonjon williams size now (not when he came to UT) between 6-2 and 6-3 with muscle.
2) feel for the game. one of those guys who plays relaxed and can make a quick bball play without thinking too much. not sure about his motor, sometimes guys who look relaxed on the court are miscast as lazy.
3) his teammates look for him. he's just starting his jr year in the video but you can see teammates setting extra screens for him, making the extra pass to get him the open look, etc...
4) good passer
5) average shot; of course he makes them all in the video, looks like he has a decent release and nice arch but shoots a bit flat footed and doesn't have a pure shooter's stroke.
6) dunks the ball hard. watch the last play of the video for evidence. with logan hill it looks like we have a couple of kids who can really throw it down in the 2017 class.
crete monee high school is chicago south suburbs near the area where adway and juice are from. not chicago public school level play but a good basketball league.
