15 & 5 vs. the Kings the other night. Highlights looked good. Glad to see him getting a shot...
Yep he's a good kid that go thrown under the bus by an inept coach

Don't blame him for what he did. Never should've come to that...
He was even trending on twitter last night
WHO ?-----HE is/was a TRAITOR and TRASHED the program.
They got his appearance almost perfect on 2k

You're nuts. Black just quit. A lot of guys didn't respect Pastner and some pushed too far. Black pushed way too far.

BTW, Adonis used to get 20 and 8 ish in early preseason.

Couldn't disagree more on Black. Anyone that can't see what Pastner did to this program and the psyche of most of the players is beyond me.

THIS.

Tarik didn't quit. He got his degree and then got the heck out of a bad situation.
It will be very interesting to see what partner does at GT over the next few years. I had a talk with GT alumni tonight in ATL - they are skeptical

They should be - he's a nice guy, great guy, classy guy...very considerate and thoughtful. ALL of that deserves recognition and praise.

But he's not a good coach, motivator, listener, etc...all things that assist in becoming a great leader. He's stuck in his ways, a bit entitled. He's paranoid and over analyzes things. He doesn't enable others.

In a real league he's going to struggle. Honestly, for his sake...I hope he has success. But I cannot see that happening knowing what I know...

Black had a memphis tigers tatoo very prominent on his arm, that's shows he loved his school but his coach was bad enough that he had to leave

Don't know what you call walking off the floor in the middle of practice because he got his ass chewed out for same thing he had done 100 times before and leaving your teammates hanging dry. Back in the day, would have been repercussions from teammates.

Were you there? Well neither was I but what was Tarik's track record and was he a popular teammate? His track record was spotless and he was the most revered player on the team, according to the players. Class kid and one of roughly 17 that transferred, though he did leave after he graduated. That alone speaks volumes. He was the most misused player I have seen in years and he knew it. As did the other players on the team. He was smart to leave and was one of the many players who knew how bad Pastner was.
Now he's a huge success story of which none is attributable to his coach at Memphis. He's a great, smart, successful guy making a big life for himself. It's a terrific success story.

What the heck were they thinking? But we came out smelling like a rose.
I predict GT is gonna get lit up by their schedule this year.

IMO-It merely shows he was a Tiger fan at the particular point in time when he got the tatoo

The difference is that Tarik has STAYED in the league for three years, already made $1.3 million by the time he was 24 years old (I'm sure most of us can't lay claim to that) AND he just signed a two-year GUARANTEED contract for $12.8 million dollars.

So, basically, by the time he is 26 years old he will have played in the highest level league in his profession and made over $14 million dollars while doing so.

Better than 99.9% of the dullards on this board.

(Cue the "let's see if he can not go bankrupt" fools).

this thread proves that some people are University of Memphis fans and some are fans of coaches. 03-idea
