Where did THAT come from? Highest attended game other than ESPN college Gameday since the opening season of Bridgeforth 2.0. Even that season, the only game with higher attendance was the one against the spatters. I don't want to hear any "butts in seats" arguments either. I was there and that place was FULL.

Sorry ... that yellow "I own seats-for-life" area was not full! :)

Walk in the club and there you will find a large, packed room full of "I own seats for life" folks enjoying their buffet and lining up at the bar. many of them never go to their seat. When I am up there (I am not an I own seats for life person, just know some) I stand on the outside rail on the patio overlooking the 50 and root from there. They are in "attendance" though
Wait but I thought attendance was trending the other way despite the school and area's growth?

Family weekend and Homecoming are always very well attended.
Don't believe the usual suspects on here. The decline of JMU football has been greatly exaggerated.
yup its true, the I own seats for life crowd do attend the club level bar all game and only walk out when they hear a roar from the ones really rootin for the DUKES. I just hate that with that kinda crowd Bridgeforth never gets loud. I was told you cant expect parents and siblings to yell for something they only attend once a year. OH well good win for the DUKES yesterday now on to Bill and Mary next weekend.
Great news on the attendance. I'm not sure what to make of the "I own seats for life" comment. There's a reason "they" own seats for life. Sad that the "us" against "them" class politics is so pervasive it has found its way to the JMU family.
3 hours before the game there were less than 80 seats available and someone in the know said that we would easily exceed 25000. Was a wonderful environment and the full place really looks great.

What, you don't believe that FW and HC are well attended games? You may need to take a look at the last several years. After those two comes the first home game where we can count on a good crowd. All others are a tough sell unless you have some good rival coming to town as in ODU visiting BFS. Besides looking back at the history, just take a look at the individual game ticket prices. They tell the same story.
BUT BUT declining attendance! No one's going to show up for our terrible D3 schedule!

Yep as stated in the post above, FW and First Home Game are always good draws. So, why would Morehead State draw a larger crowd than CCSU?

An average of over 23k to date, and on pace to (once again) finish the regular season avg. at 20k or above. Playoffs (shoud JMU earn a home game) will pull the avg. down, but JMU should remain in the top 3 for FCS attendance.

The "sky is falling, attendance is on a downward spiral and falling over a cliff" crowd will object that the reported numbers are somehow a fraud, and they'll be joined by the dwindling minority who argue that JMU should have saved money and built a smaller stadium.

The truth is JMU FB attendance (as demonstrated yesterday) is healthy and strong, and the new BFS was exactly what was needed to meet the needs of the university, while preserving the future options of expansion when needed.

It's good to be a Duke today!
I thought yesterday that the crowd was louder than any previous Family Weekend game.

A blue blazer to go with your purple???
The man needs help dressing himself. Where is the Mrs. when he gets dressed in the morning?

I thought the same. It was a livelier than usual FW crowd.
In contrast, the ODU v. Charlotte game had an announced attendance of less than 13k at UNCC.
Attendance looking good... zero reason to be happy stuck in CAA!
