I don't guess y'all need anyone to tell you that, but Riley Ferguson convinced everyone around me he was the best player on the field tonight. I'd go so far as to suggest his talent is better than Lynch. He just needs to hone his instincts. Good game and good luck the rest of the way.

Thanks and good game. He has some work to do but the kid has a future.
I'm a little disappointed that our defense didn't play better, but we made some crucial mistakes and turnovers that cost us the game. Our o-line has got to get better to keep Ferguson from getting sacked and making mistakes by throwing rush passes. I think we'll get better as the season progresses.

Not sure about all that. He had his struggles but did a lot right while eluding pressure often. Not bad for his first road game and first game against real competition.
Congrats to the Rebels - they be tough.
04-cheers
He played better but his arm strength and accuracy need to improve for the offense to run the way it's supposed to .

When he has his feet set, his arm strength is well above average. That throw to Craft (I think it was Craft) to get the ball down to the 2 was a laser. He was on the run from the OM D Line a lot and throwing off balance.

I was impressed with his elusiveness though. He can play.

Yes, he can and we should be glad he's our QB. Keep up the good work. 04-bow
They barely set up a pocket for him a lot of the time. Maybe that was more by design, like a moving rolling pocket...I don't know FB well enough to really tell.

I just noticed that he had to do a lot on the run. He looks to be improving exponentially in that respect.

I like him a lot.
Other than his turnovers, Ferguson showed continued improvement but I would say Miller is still the best player on the field for Memphis

Yes he is!!

You do realize Bama and FSU didn't have a lot of a pocket for most of the game. I believe our OL did above average and will be very fine for the next 7 games!!! By the time Houston rolls into town, we should have a very solid unit. NEXT year, they will be a dominating unit!!!
He has mental lapses and tends to throw bad jump balls. However, overall he looked really good tonight. He was mobile and did a great job of eluding pressure the entire game. His arm strength is not great on the run but he is excellent at keeping his eyes down the field when moving around. He showed tonight he can play with anyone and he is going to fill Paxton's shoes pretty nicely.

Our o line is 3 sophomores 1 junior and a true freshman

This is true, and does have some effect.

However the biggest difference between schools like Memphis and schools like Ole Miss is the lineman. Simply put, there are not nearly as many good linemen out there as there are skilled players.
He played well. Certainly makes some poor decisions but that'll improve. He's not Lynch but he's good and will improve.
Young Brett Farve...Gunslinger...
Ferguson did well especially for his first time against a very good team and on the road. Not only do I expect him to get better I expect the team to get & play better as the season rolls along.
I was at the game and I could not be more proud of our team and staff.

We had a couple of turnovers which kept us from being neck and neck.

That said we would have lost to OM tonight even if we didn't commit a TO.

They are the better team and won the game.

I was very impressed during and after the game hearing Rebel fans talking about how talented our team was and especially how well coached we were.

The fake punt call was the perfect call to create some Mo.

What I heard many say is they thought we should have kept pouring it on by trying an onside kick after we scored that TD.

Regardless, I felt our Tigers played their hearts out for one another and that's all we can ask for as fans

This game has inspired my confidence that we have a legit shot to win the AAC this season.

I'm so excited for the Temple game. I'll be traveling back up and can't wait.

3-1 is incredible

Now let's go 4-1 and 1-0 in the AAC

I love our team!!!

Give Norvell a class or two. Time to coach up both lines. You see the level of player we are recruiting and getting. It is impressive. This is becoming a program.

I agree. And we will have a bunch of guys who all have played significant minutes. With the pace of our offense, we need to be able to give the starters some breaks. Good times will get better. AND - we already have a couple of serious OL studs committed for next year!
