There is a movement afoot to convince the voter to vote Jose Fernandez as NL Cy Young winner.
Why is it that because an athlete dies that there is always a push to give him awards that he has not earned as if the voter is personally responsible for his death.
Fernandez is not in the top five or any of the pitching stats except for wins where he is fifth and strike outs. Record is no longer among the variables used in deciding Cy Young. If he had not of died he most likely would not be on half the ballots cast.
