We are where we thought we'd be and we didn't let them off the hook. Defense showed some strength. Offense showed some resilience. Let's talk Charlotte in our quest for our first bowl!

I am feeling good about beating UNCC. They have only been able to sack a QB twice in 3 games.
This is another game that we should be favored in and should win, but you have to believe that Charlotte sees this as one of the games they can win, and they will be gunning for us. I think we win it, but it could be a close one. However...

I see it: ODU 35 Charlotte 17
We open as 7.5 point favorites.

Anyone going to the game?
I was admittedly unsure of what our team was after the first two weeks. After seeing us play a fellow CUSA team this week, I think I have a pretty good feel for this team now. We will struggle against the very top of the league, beat the worst teams, and be competitive against most of the rest. I don't do predictions (too superstitious) but if we play well, I think Charlotte is a team we should beat in a fairly stress free fashion.

Me and 3 friends will be there. Really looking forward to seeing their campus and stadium.

Better hope the protests settle down by then.
If DW plays well, we should win fairly easily. Defense was pretty good, just need to clean up run defense a bit (was focused on containment, allowing for inside stuff). Just be efficient in the red zone.

Their campus is pretty far removed from downtown Charlotte. Don't think the protests, even at its peak, would affect anything at UNCC.
I'm not too sure about the win. I thought we would beat them pretty easy last year and we were very, very fortunate to get that win.

Let's hope that we punch them in the mouth early and never let up.
Is Charlotte that bad?

Have you not been reading and watching the news the last few days!?! 07-coffee3
CBS Sports predicts us going to the Arizona bowl.
Admittedly I know little about Charlotte.

On offense they primarily run a 4 WR set with motion, play action, and are balanced between the pass and the run. The starting QB, Olsen, is a pro style pocket passer.
The OLine has matured and should be better than last year.
Probably the biggest difference between last year and this year is that their QB will not turn over the ball every other play.
UNCC passes better trhan it runs

I believe the defense is still a 3-4 that is far better against the run than the pass. We should be able to pass with relative ease, but the run should be there as well. This is not the UTSA defense.
We will score, and I believe that we can stop them

ODU 33 (we miss two extra points and get no FGs) UNCC 17

Will it be televised on TV here in Hampton Roads? My Hokies have a bye, so ODU it is for Saturday.
Another week of streaming, it appears. I ate the Monarch Media cost yesterday but it was worth it.
Yes, this is the 2nd of 3 CUSA.TV games in a row. Hopefully Charlotte's production is better than ours.
NC schools have not been kind to us in NC this year...
We have to completely change the game plan this week. The focus vs. UTSA was getting the ends out side and containing Sturm in the pocket which allowed them to have a lot of success running the ball inside; however, we played the pass pretty well and got some sacks. This week, we face a team that is a strong power running team. They are not adapt at passing very well. What Charlotte will try to do is just pound it down our throats. Not the ideal match up as these types of teams have hurt us in the past. So, hopefully we can get out to a quick start and make them become a passing team. If they do, we will get some sacks/turnovers and cruise in the 4th quarter.

On defense, this might be the worst FBS defense we face on the year. They are giving up almost 7 yards per play and 5 yards per play on the ground. The average QB has been 24-37 324 yards against them. David should be able to find some rhythm and our offense is a matchup nightmare for them.

Convert in the red zone and don't turn the ball over and we will win. If we play like we did vs. UTSA, it will be in the double digits.

What???!!

UNCC has passed for more yards than rushed in every game. Only vs Elon did they even have more rushing attempts (one more 35 - 34)and that was because they ran at the end of the game because of the rout. Even in that win the 49rs gained more in the air.

In the games where UNCC had respectable rushing totals, they were bolstered by one or two big plays. In the Elon game one was a 39 yard run by the backup QB, hardly part of a power attack.
Against Temple it was a 66 yard run by the RB.
UNCC will live or die by the pass against us, not the run
